how to mount new tube in frame when doing a tube swap

how do you guy mount your new tube in the old frame. the arcade tubes I have seen have the tube mounted with what looks to be 1 inch metal banding strip with a crimp holding it tight to the frame do you guys have a work around for this. I know not everybody has metal banding equipment at home to restrap the tube like it came from factory so what do you guys use to hold the tube tight in the old frame ?

All new tubes I have seen are also banded with the corner ears attached.

Sometimes TV tubes have the ears on the wrong side of the banding but you can correct for that with some wooden spacers.

I was thinking that you had to remove the tube from the tv frame to mount in your old frame I never thought about spacers your idea just might work I was going on the assumption that you would need your original frame to work with. as far as mounting it back into the cabnet. thanks

You do need your original frame. The tube should be mounted in the plastic TV case with the same ears that you see in an arcade frame.

ok now I see what you mean I pulled my g07 out and the banding only holds the for corner pieces that bolts to the frame itself. I guess depending on the tube you get the corners might be off a little. so you might have to drill or put some kind of spacer. thanks for clearing things up better for me I just wanted to ask before I go tube shopping I know I might have to use the same yoke for the chassi and the rings from the new tube but I just was not sure about mounting the donor tube I thought you would have to cut the banding and reaply it to the old frame but now I see they are two separate parts. thank you for clearing things up for me. :)
