Hi all

After many many years of not playing games, I learned of one of my favourites NBA Jam TE (modded with Jordan)

I have manged to get it running all ok launching it via cmd etc, however I also seen that there is a way to launch it direct via Mame without any prompts or errors.

I believe this is by modifying Mame to bypass the checksums.

Can anyone please provide a guide on how I can do this please? (I am a novice)
Although I have kindly been provided a modified exe, I would love the ability to do it myself, for any future releases/updates.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

There's a patch to remove the nag screens, you have to run it on the source code and then compile for your system. It's been years since I did it myself, but if I could figure it out, you probably can as well. Here's a page with patches:

There are several threads on how to do this over at BYOAC.

Hi ...Thanks but ..... that is a pre- complied MAME again... and may not be updated at some point in the future.
I'm after the info on what and how to modify it myself.
Mainly to play modded Roms without any errors/ without the need to launch them via cmd or a batch file.

One way to do it is navigating to the mame folder in cmd and running it in debug mode. For example (assuming you navigated to the mame folder)

Mame64 ckongo -debug

I do this when doing rom mods.

Edit, I see you already do that. Disregard.

Ah, thanks, I didn't read closely enough.

Recommend doing a search at BYOAC, that was how I found the patches.
