How to get Computer to display on Makvision CGA/EGA/VGA monitor

Hi all,

I am trying to get a computer to display on a Makvision 3M25 CGA/EGA/VGA monitor. The specs are:

1. H. Frequency: 3-Mode (15/24/31 Khz), Auto
2. V. Frequency: 47~70HZ
3. Video Output: TTL 2.5-5.0Vpp/ANALOG(75ohm) 0.7PP
4. Sync: TTL 2.5-5.0Vpp Negative/Positive ( Seperate or Composite)
5. Resolution & Bandwidth: 640X480, 65 Mhz

Its got a VGA connector on it and I know it works ( currently running a ultracade), however I want to hook up my own PC also for MAME. I set the computer to display at 640X480 but when it gets to windows the display is all screwed up and clicking. The screen refresh rate is set to 60 ( can't seem to change that) but does that need to be 65 like in the resolution/bandwith, or does it maybe need to be 15/24/31 like in the H. Frequency. I would assume I don't need one of those Arcade VGA cards since its a CGA/EGA/VGA monitor but not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Jim

I don't know what 65mhz refers to...
Monitor refreshes are in hz.

Anyways try this....

1. Make sure that the monitor is configured to accept 31khz.... Sometimes you need to change a jumper or something.

2. Make sure that the PC is actually outputting 31khz... Fire it up with a regular crt monitor attached, check the settings, then detach the monitor, Then attach the arcade monitor.
