"How to" fix a Nintendo Super System monitor

Hey guys,
I'm back with another "how to" video. This video details fixing a common problem with Nintendo Super System monitor. The actual problem is with the game board not properly regulating voltage to IC4 pins 1 and 15. If the DC voltage drops below 9v, then you will lose picture. All credit to this fix goes to DogP of these forums, becasue without him I could have never found or fixed this problem.

I'm looking into buying a Nintendo Super System arcade, but it doesn't display an image at the moment. The screen turns on and displays the text of what game is playing, and it also displays the music of the games as well.
Do you think this cabinet has the same problem that you explain how to fix in your video?

I'm considering buying it, but I don't want to get stuck with something I can't fix. This would be my first arcade cabinet, so I don't have a ton of knowledge on how to fix these.

Thanks!

That sounds very similar, though I can't say I've ever seen it display text, but not the game video. Usually the video is all visible or all not. If the price is right and you want the game, you can definitely pick it up, and worst case, buy a working board and swap it if the fix doesn't work.

Oh, well this one is definitely displaying text and sound, but no picture. The guy who owns it doesn't know what it wrong with it (or at least is really convincing and is playing dumb) and he hasn't tried anything to fix it. He said he has dozens of other cabinets that he needs to repair/restore before this one, which is the reason why he is selling.
How much do working boards for this machine cost? Also, where can I buy the boards, or the games?

Here is a picture of the cabinet:

Hmm... that could be related, but doesn't look like the usual problem. IIRC, the last working board I saw sell on ebay was <$100, but of course you gotta be patient to come across them. Of course it could be something else pretty simple, but the worst case would be to just buy a working board. If it comes with ActRaiser, that's pretty good though, since it's probably worth $50+ for the cart itself.

Thanks for the reply! I searched Ebay and couldn't find a single item that was related to the Nintendo Super System. Not a board or even a single game.
Is there anywhere else (besides Ebay) where you can buy the games? The games it comes with are Actraiser, Super Mario World, and F-Zero. But the games that are on the marquee are Super Tennis, Super Mario World, and NCAA Basketball. If it's possible, I would like to have those games inside of it, as it seems more official that way.

Ebay and the forums are the only places I know of... and I'd stick with the games in there... they're better than the ones on the marquees. ;) You could probably print marquees of the other games too.

That cab looks nice and is pretty rare. I'd snag it and try reseating all of the carts on the motherboard. Then do they waiting game on ebay or put a want ad here on the forums.

What does "reseating the carts" mean?

I will most likely pick this up, but I have to make sure it will fit in my vehicle first.
