I love this picture- it is where it all began. In 2005, my Asteroids was the first arcade game to ever come into my home.

It's so funny to see the kerosene heater sitting next to the machine, and all of the open wall space, considering today, 5 years later, Asteroids has games on both sides of it, as well as all around the room!

And all started with this one..

One of my first "gameroom" pix... though I already had 4 cabs (2 MAME and 2 dedicated)...

The same shot now:

...then of course there is the larger side of the garage...

Love the shots. I'll put up a more recent image of my "current state" later today!

my first cab was a space invaders part 2 that i totaly payed far too much on (yes i made the same old mistake that most make with the first cab) and i totaly trashed it,i still regret what i did to this day (well its now 1 year+ on) after that i got a jamma and 60in1'd it,i still got it,its in my front room and i then bougth some other cabs, fobt i mamed, couple taito style table tops,i sold all these 3 cabs, mame just didnt cut it for me and i couldnt look at the table tops as i thought they was ugly.

well my first dedictaed was a star castle (yes i know what a buy) but,the only thing original is the cab and the gameboards, the power supply from the transformer/linear board is not original, the monitor is running some stellar sound/vid board and its got a (whatever) vector in it,was supposed to be keltron originaly (i think).well i think the sound/vid board went,so now it plays blind and obviously it needs attention.

after that i bought a bit tatty space zap,its pretty much fully restored (just some art touch ups,i got some other projects but,i seemed to be always getting bogged down with more cabs so the current ones were always getting crammed behind latest buys.so now i currently have running, nice condition space zap and a nice missile command cocktail:

although these are not my first cabs, cos i have jamma and a nonworker star castle i will consider them my first working cabs restores.

i also have a asteroids upright,am just trying to sort it out,its working,in fact it works great,it just needs the cp sorting,i sanded the art off it and primed it today,so needs a top coat and art,i cant buy the full wrap (arcadeshop) as i dont have credit card and am in uk so i got to settle for the overlay art for the button area.

so hopefully within next couple of weeks the lineup will expand with another cab, asteroids, then theres loads of cabs waiting in the workshop/bedroom.

i live 7 floors up in a tower block in a 1 bedroomed flat!

sorry for stretching the post out as some of you will see me posting and i only ever showed 1 cab but,yes i am enthusiast although not a rich one and especialy so when i am in uk where cabs are scarce and expensive.
;)

I wish I had photos of my forst games. My very first was a Black Knight pin. Shortly after that I got a Zoo Keeper. Keep in mind, this was back in 1986, so they really weren't THAT old, LOL.

About a year after that I had 6 machines, and spread my sickness to 3 different friends.

Flash forward to now, I'm lucky enough to have a basement for the games I have or will be getting. My intereste sometimes goes away, but then always seems to return with a vengance :)

Darn it, gotta go find pics!!!! GRRRRRR!!!!

My first 2 back in 1997. A converted Contra and Mr. Do's Wildride. The Contra was in a Centipede cab, and unknown to me at the time the Mr. Do's Wildride was in a Cliffhanger cab. That's my daughter (not the long-haired guy), who nowadays is 16 years old.

I'll have to grab some pics of my beginnings to now, later tonight. I have lots of pics. (I think)

VG, I like the CL-12 box in the upper right of your first pic. I got one o' them! :D Good helmet.

But yes, it spreads FAST.

Mine started like this:

Parked up against the patio slider door in the livingroom of a two bedroom apartment with 5 of us living there, didn't have a garage but a car port so the garage wasn't an option....

Now it's a little easier to breath but haven't moved any to the garage unless it's for repair/resto now:

well mine just started. i've been into arcade games since i was little and now finally have my own house. so my first game is T-mek. we had to take it apart piece by piece to get it in the house and into the basement. it then took us 7 hours to put it back together.

Here's the before:

Wish I had pictures. Started with 1 Neo Geo converted to play SF2 in a one bedroom apartment in early 97. Went to 2-3 in storage. To one Japanese sit-down in another one bedroom apartment. To squeezing six of them in another one bedroom apartment. To the garage of...16? +1 in the main room +1 pinball...+ the Japanese sit-down in my office.

...need more room. :)

My original gameroom started with just one game and two pinballs

Then it grew to three games

Then the final gameroom as it stands today
