...you favorite game from BITD was new? I'm just curious to see if there is any correlation.

I was 10 when X-men was new. So how old were you (and for fun, what game)?

Most of the classics came out between when I was 9-14. I was 11 when Galaga came out and I remembered playing that forever when my friend taught me the no fire cheat. I remember I was 12 when DK came out and it was the first game I ever saw a line for. I would get the quarters from my paper route. My local arcade closed in 1984 when I was 13. I remember my friend and I riding our bikes up there and all the games removed with a closed sign hanging in the window.

I was 10 or 11 when Gorf came out. But I didn't actually play the game until Feb. of 1983, about a month before my 13th birthday....

I don't think I was even born yet when Berzerk came out. I was born in September of 1980, but didn't play Berzerk for the first time until 1988 or so.

Berzerk came out in 80, so I was 7. I really only played it occasionally from then until about 83. How long did those machines actually stay working in the wild? Cause whenever it went down I'm sure Kenny (the Roller Rink owner) woulda just hung an OUT OF ORDER sign on it and that woulda been that.

Toobin', 1988, so I was 13. I played it in the student union building of the local college. I recall there also being Terra Force. I know there were a few others, but I really enjoyed Toobin'. Never would have thought I'd start collecting them 10 or so years later and end up with a near mint Toobin'.

I was about 8 when I got my hands on the brand spankin' new handlebars of a Paperboy. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

EDIT: JINX gsealock!

Oh, and even though Pole Position was 82, I really played the shit out of it in cockpit form in 1986-1987 during Jr Bowling league. I still have my team trophy from that time.

Alley Rats - League Champions - 1987

That woulda put me at 14

When I got to play Splatterhouse I was 9, which was 89'. It wasn't my "favorite" back then though, I was too young to be any good at it. My favorite would have been Street Fighter II: Champ. Ed., which of course came out everywhere in 91", so I was 11.

I was 7 when Space Wars was produced... Although I didn't play it until I was probably 11 or 12...

I lived through the best years of the Golden Age. I was 7 ~ 16 when all of the classics came out, the giant wave of arcade games happening when I was 10 ~ 14.

Double Dragon - 1987. I was 12, and had just hit 7th grade, in the 'big school.' My town only had 2 schools, the elementary (K-6), and the high school (7-12) We got to leave the school grounds during lunch with parental permission. I spent many a lunch hour at the corner arcade, playing DD.

I now have an original Dedicated in my own basement arcade. I still play it.
