So I prepping my Tron shroud for new artwork by removing the old artwork. After removing it I was left with old adhesive covering the plastic shroud. So I took out my old reliable "Oops!" and started working on the adhesive. It worked well, but the can was soon empty.

Going to the store, I see that it no longer comes in can form, but spray. I figured I'd give it a shot.

However, seems the spray can stuff just isn't as strong as "concentrate" or whatever. Giving up on that I decide to try Goof Off. I have it in both "concentrate" and spray, so I grab the spray can and spray it on. Seems to do fairly well at removing the adhesive, and the shroud is nice and smooth. Then I notice some overspray that appears to be whitening the plastic.

Then I noticed the whole section I had just been working on was turning white.

So, yeah, luckily most of this will be covered up with artwork, but I got some overspray on the top and bottom areas as well. My first thought was maybe getting some plastic fusion spraypaint to repaint some areas, but if anyone has a spare Tron shroud laying around...

:(

I had this same issue. I then used a plastic polish, that removed the white. it worked for me, but sure was a pain. I have over 30 hours into my shroud. Turned out very nice when done.

goof off is basically a paint stripper...definitely not something for removing adhesive. that's what goo gone is for. goo gone plus a little heat works every time.

I have used the black satin Krylon Fusion spray paint with very positive results. When dried, it really didn't look "painted".....more of a satin black ABS.

Yeah, I noticed this when I started restoring my shroud back in April- I guess I should have posted it then. Luckily I tested it on the back first to make sure and saw it nearly immediately turn white. Shame too as Goof Off takes that horrible glue right off. It took forever with Goo Gone and Isoproyl. Have you tried Back To Black to see if it'll remove the white? I worked on my spinner.
