A Guy wants to sell 3 cabs together. Only really interested in the play choice ( comes with mike Tyson's punch out, Mario 2, double dragon, gauntlet). The others are R type and alien syndrome. Alien syndrome boots to a green screen. Rtype is missing a 2 player button but appears to work, play choice has the worst jail bars I have ever seen. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being minty, I would rate overall cab conditions 5. 2nd player joystick is messed up but the buttons seemed ok. The guy is motivated to get rid of them but is firm on moving all 3. Just throw out a number based off the known issues to help me decide if its worth it and at what price. I would love to have a play choice but no zero about Nintendo cabs. Opinions appreciated on this, now here are the pics.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1349828521.093343.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1349828542.524985.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1349828558.326415.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1349828571.026587.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1349828592.889312.jpg

I would start at $300 and not go over $450. Assume the Alien Syndrome board has died from the suicide battery.

I'd buy the playchoice if its in a original red DK.

How can I tell? It seemed like it was orange to me? It was dark in there he got the lights on but pretty much kicked me out shortly after, he was leaving. Seemed like the alien syndrome was running some what, is a green screen with some graphical flickering typical of a suicide battery? And can't play choice games run up to 10 games? Or does it depend on the model. Looking at the pic in the cab it looks like it had two wire harness finger boards, what's the 2nd one for? I never worked on a Nintendo cab but I have done several repairs to jamma cabs and wells Gardner monitors. Are the Sanyo monitors in these about the same as far as just changing out caps and fly backs to fix those black lines? And do all Nintendo games use the same wire harness (at least do play choice and rtype?) thanks for the help thus far ill see if I can get him to 300 to 450 as suggested.

There were 5 game playchoice setups but they were rare, more likely it just has 5 carts installed.

I wouldn't even think about deconverting that playchoice. The sideart is perfect you can just paint around that.

I haven't found the sanyo monitors to be any more difficult to work on than wells gardner ones (and in fact easier than some wells models).

Yeah I would keep it a play choice for sure, it's the only one I'm really wanting. I made him a offer ill see where it goes.

The PC does look like a red DK (or Radar Scope) in those pics. If it was a DK Jr. it would be a light orange.

I would go 50.00 each a lot of work there
I wouldn't sell any of these at that price.

Here's how I'd price the cabs: the PC10 panel, motherboard, wiring harness, games and toppers make that cab closer to, at least, $200 alone, not to mention the red Nintendo cab is uncommon. The R-Type if it's working with pcb, at least $150. Alien Syndrome, $100 for a non-working cab with original topper, which is not common to find intact from what I understand.

If you wanted to, the red Nintendo cab could be converted to a nice Donkey Kong. The R-Type could be converted to a PC10 since it uses the same cab style as a dedicated PC10. But some wouldn't agree since you would have to destroy the R-type side art to replace it with the PC10 art. But the R-Type is JAMMA I think so it would be a nice cab for swapping JAMMA pcbs in.

Good info thanks didn't know the rtype was jamma. The cab is orange on the playchoice though, not sure if that's a dedicated playchoice color or not. Here is a pic that shows the front.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1349840510.085858.jpg

That PC10 cab doesn't look orange. At least it's not "Nintendo" orange like Donkey Jr. is. Does that cab look like it's been painted over? Maybe it's been painted red, or red-orange to match the PC10 panel.

A dedicated PC10 cab is just like the R-Type cab. It's black and has PC10 side art.

Here's what different Nintendo cabs look like:

I usually go 100 as a base price if it is working, more if the art is good. I go 50 for on working, especially if it is a conversion cab. Personally, id be offering 75 a cab. They are always going to be worth more in parts, but its the amount of work that also factors into it.
