How much would you pay for a new MULTI-VECTOR ARCADE CABINET

POLL ONLY - (this is not real)

So, what would you pay for this? (assuming it actually exists and goes into production)

NEW VECTOR MULTI-GAME
- FPGA LOGIC BOARD capable of playing any of all possible 35 vector arcade games, VECTREX and new homebrews
- COLOR VECTOR MONITOR using new technology deflection and high voltage boards
- POWER supplied by common PC power supply and isolation transformer
- CABINET - new CNC based on Atari Space Duel (4 speaker; vertical or horizontal monitor; control panel adaptable for buttons/spinner/trakball etc; custom art; over/under coin door; tinted glass; leg levelers included)
- MARQUEE - LCD screen with software controlled graphics which change to match selected game :)

Wouldn't it be amazing if this really existed?

I would easily pay 4k. I don't have any vectors right now and would love to have one that would play them all!

Probably zero, lol. Why buy a multi setup when you own them all anyway? ;)

In all honesty, having a new multi vector solution would be pretty sweet. Hard to say what I'd pay, but for a new, reliable system, I wouldn't mind spending a bit.

Not just arcade vectors, but add Vectrex and homebrews.
You ain't got all those, I bet. :001_ssuprised:

The multi-vector would be sweet but the lcd marquee that syncs to display the selected game would be pretty freakin slick ! If the control panel had a slightly exagerated bump out from the cab you could easily design storage for two additional control panels right on the front of the cabinet `that changed out with snap latches - no tools necessary . Not only would that maximize game play/controller functionality but I cam imagine it looking pretty sweet as well . One with tank sticks and a thruster , one with buttons and a joy , one with MH roller , track ball , spinner -.... With more than 20 seconds of thought I think you could come up with some clever and user friendly configurations . I mean - ass long as we're deaming right ?

Yeh, the marquee could be programmed to:

- display standard marquee image for selected game
- display animated marquee image for selected game
- display either static or animated marquee name - MULTI-VECTOR (or whatever user wants) when no game is selected
- pay tribute to the BATTLEZONE MYSTERY HOLES and the marquee would act as a second display repeating the action on the main vector monitor :)

Lots of options ... LOL

OR ... think about this ...

make the marquee an elongated vector monitor that changes based upon the game

I'm going to give you an idea for free. Somebody take it and run with it.

Make the control panel a touch sensitive device, and make the buttons moveable. So for instance, you want to play Asteroids, you set the buttons on the control panel wherever they need to be (might have some sort of 'jig' that holds them in the perfect place. A small contact on the bottom of the button could touch the touch sensitive panel on the cpo and register the button hit.

Want to play Space Duel? Pop another 'jig' on the cpo and drop the buttons in the spots they need to be on that game, etc.

Could probably make some sort of joystick solution that would work like that too.

Would probably take a ton of creative work and tons of programming, but done properly (where the buttons and joysticks were nearly identical to original controls) it would solve the ultimate problem you have with a multigame : Different control setups.

So, too soon to project the vectors into a 3D hologram inside the cabinet.
Or is that too much? LOL

(eliminates the need for the vector monitor)

And later, a holo-vector-cocktail. Play Asteroids in free-air ...

Forget the jig, just put a lcd touch screen on the control panel that allows you to move the buttons to where you want them. this way every game you switch to can change the control panel digitally.
