"How much is this worth?", Lets just add a EST value range to KLOV listing

Seriously if we did this it could be helpful and I would think that it could bring more traffic to the site and hopefully, more members. Most people that stumble into a game do a google search with something like "value of pac man". Even though KLOV certainly is going to come up in the top 5 using any search engine I still think it would be a good addition.

Condition and location can vary the price a bit but if some trusted members were allowed to edit the game listings and update them I think it could work.

Also can we please change the creepy uncle sam pic? Should be a well known classic pinball or arcade machine.

Sorry if this has been discussed before or not appropriate.

that could be helpful but you'd have to constaly update it...and that's not very optimal when you have something like a wikapedia setup(which this place does)

Maybe keep a database of what registered members have paid for games, three dropdowns, working, partly working, or nonworking, cosmetic condition on a scale of 1-10, and price paid.

Database lists many thousands of games, of which perhaps only a hundred or so change hands often enough for there to be anything close to a consensus on their value. Even then a price guide wouldn't be much use as almost anyone who needed one would also have serious trouble assessing condition.

It is essentially impossible to have a price guide for conversion games at all, since each individual conversion would have to be appraised individually.

Not only do game values vary over time, they also vary regionally as well.

+1 too many factors.

For 1, half of the price checks seem to be for whackadoo conversions (to me...I dunno if that is actually true). There are boardset price guides for some systems in place, which help somewhat with that scenario.

For 2, we argue a lot about how much shit is worth anyways. Threads for games where I end up stating a worth 1-300 consistently gets someone in Buttfuck, NW chiming in that he would pay 800 for one that is falling apart, has a dead cat in it, is haunted and wishes one would pop up near him. Or someone put 500 bucks worth of parts into his so it's worth a bajillion dollars and "don't try to stop me from making money in a hobby where part of the value is the hours of enjoyment/use that fixed up game gave me, you socialist commie anti-capitalist". The CPS2 guide is the only price guide discussion I've been in where feelings weren't hurt and someone didn't throw a fit.

For 3, doesn't Exidy have a cheat sheet for this homework assignment anyways?
