I have a never been opened original gameboy, still with the factory seal on the box. Iv had it for about two years now, and have held on to it hoping its worth something some day. Anyone have any ideas as to its worth now, or how much it could be worth? I can only imagine how many people have one that has never been opened.

Original Gameboy right? Like the ones I see all day long at Game Crazy for $10 right?

Hahahaha! I'm messing with you. I'm sure it's probably worth a good penny to the right collector. But, I don't know, I'd would have to assume there's still a fair amount of unopened Gameboys floating out there. There's two right now on ebay. One is $130 and another is BIN price of $210.

If you were hoping for $13,000....it ain't happening. :)

haha, oh no i never assumed it was worth over $100 right now, but was wondering if its worth holding onto since its unopened. I got it for free through my work(long story short, had been sitting in a police dept locker since the year they were released, and two years ago given back to the company and the company gave them away at a christmas party, 5 were given out and four people gave them to their kids who opened them right away, I was the only person who held on to it)

Why you always gotta be a Sally shitty shorts price Nazi? I bet you wait outside your local Gamestop and wait for some broke ass pothead selling his Wii so he can score a bag huh? You ......you............ freakin GENIUS! Man I got the muchies all of a sudden heh heh

I just sold an original 1989 Game Boy complete in box with all the original parts (even the 4 AA batteries that were included) still wrapped for about $100. I would think a sealed one would probably go for double that amount to a collector that is looking for one. If I were you, I'd hold onto it as it's pretty cool to own a piece of gaming history that's never been opened. I sold mine because I already have another one and I'm trying to get rid of things collecting dust. Do you mind posting a picture of it? It's the ORIGINAL right?

I played the hell out of my Original GameBoy for about 10 years until it broke. On rare occasion, I will play the games on my SNES Super GameBoy but not much. Just another bygone era.....

Here are the pics for the person who asked. It still has the original seal on it unbroken. And even the proof of purchase paper on the back lol

sweet.. found some of my old ladys gmeboy stuff but not the unit itself yet..

i forgot all about the home alone game lol..

Didn't these things originally retail for about $100? Not much appreciation value. =\

Yeah, not much. I think the NES was like $200-250 when it came out in 1985. When you factor in inflation, you're looking at a $400-500 console. But I'm thinking this sealed GB would probably go for a good amount. Maybe more than it's original value.

I can't imagine it will increase much more than the current rate any time soon. If you want to have it kicking around your house for 5 years to make an extra $30, then go for it. Doesn't seem worth it to me if you feel like it's in the way right now.

Its not in the way at all, I actually love having it. I will be moving out of my duplex soon i hope, to a four bedroom house. Then I can put it on the self in my soon to be game room.
