So I am thinking about buying a project SMB. Seller wants 1200 for it. (no way I'll pay that much). The backglass is messed up and needs to be cleaned and new rubbers. Waiting on pictures to arrive just going by seller description. It does power on though.

seller claims cab is 7/10 and pf is 8/10

So what would something like this be worth?

Man, user VICJW66 will be showing up very, very soon to complain about your use of an acronym instead of the actual game name. I know this from experience.

$1000 unshopped and needing a little work (easy stuff like bulbs, rubbers and switches)
$1600 plug and play.

Honestly, if I want a game and the seller is only a couple hundred higher than what I feel it's worth, I do make the offer lower but if they won;t budge I just pony up and drive away with a game. Ensure you get close up pictures of the boards. Acid damage can devalue that (in your favor) in a heart beat.

!!!!

Um....hey, anyone want a Super Mario Bros!?!?!? ;)

Honestly, even though I want a theme for my pins, if one came up and I had the cash, I probably wouldn't even think about it twice at that price as long as it looked good and functioned. :p

My kid would die, and at least I know that's a game that I wouldn't ever get rid of once I have it.

there is a fun pizza place in Omaha that has an arcade and the SMB there is pretty darn fun. I have been on the lookout for one ever since playing it. Rob Anthony swung by my place to work on some strange issues on my BOP and I mentioned SMB to him and how I wanted one. He found that to be an odd pin to want to own. It had been a while since I had been up there and a couple weeks ago I stopped by and played it some. I think I sorta made it seem cooler in my brain because I was sorta let down by it the 2nd time.

At $1200 I would totally get one though.

I'll ship it to Texas! :)

Not to sound like an idiot, but why not just pay half that for a Playchoice 10? You can have SMB and 9 other games in there.

Not sure if your being sarcastic or if you just didn't know that gottlieb made a mario Pinball machine.

LOL, oh man, talk about sounding like a complete idiot. I thought he was talking about the SMB arcade game.

I've wanted to pick up a SMB pinball machine forever, but they are out of my price range.

It would take a hell of a lot to get to that point but if you dont have it out on the market and want to sell it to a fellow KLOV....yeah. Let me know details in pm and ill explain my side lol.

What about Gordonfan? He hates them too. Lol. Honestly I didn't know what SMB was at first. I don't have much interest in Pinball machines made after the early 80's, that's probably why I don't know what most of them mean. I need to get my hands on a list and study them.

Sorry to derail the thread.

There's a website that has an archive of most of the abbreviations. I dunno what the hell most people are talking about either.

Not to keep this going but ya, sometimes when I'm on RGP and they start using all the acronym I want to slap someone. They will type an entire book about the game, but it takes way to long to type out the games name. I realy love the people selling pins and they do that. Hell ya, I have always wanted to buy a BMMDPBMWNG. ( Bally Midway MotorDome Pinball Machine With New Glass. :)

wow...SMB's go for THAT much? I've played one a few times, and I was WAY unimpressed with it. Now - at a show it's really hard to appreciate the games sometimes, since everything is so loud you can't hear the sound effects for squat, but still...really?

I can think of so many other games I'd get before that one - even if it were only $700 or $800...

But - to each their own - I don't dislike the Mario franchise one bit - just underwhelmed with that pin...

Maybe I'll give it another go in Visual Pinball...

It's an OK game, but the sound is what makes it. It's got rad "remixes" of Super Mario World SNES music, and it's the first time Charles Martinet ever did Mario's voice for a game. It's a pretty easy game....but it's Gottlieb's first DMD game. In that context, it's pretty impressive in terms of modes and "depth" (8 castles to destroy!).

Yeah, you too - but the last melee' was started by the other guy, so I gave him
"credit".

So what would something like this be worth?

what's it worth all fixed up and nice

various ways to figure that out then minus off what you think it would take to get it back fixed up and nice

for me, a price also depends on how many projects i have going on
right now, i have way too many projects so i would pay less for another project than someone who has none and looking for one
