My struggle is with my 16-year-old son. He removes my tools from the garage and literally leaves them laying in the yard. I generally find them when I'm mowing or when I'm heading down to the beach. Wrenches, tape measures, screwdrivers, hammers, you name it, and I will find them laying by a tree or in the grass or near a pile of dog shit. Two years ago, he left my good snow shovel and my good spade shovel laying on the ice in the winter after clearing some snow for his fish house. When the ice melted, obviously the shovels went into the lake and we've never seen them again. I had no idea this happened until I asked him where my shovels went. He will take tools off of the pegboard wall and leave them laying all over the bench and the floor. He will grab my power tools and put them in his truck to use somewhere and I never see them again or they never work right again. As much as I love my son, he has been a tool stealing nightmare fuck. He started a detailing business this summer and appropriated my pressure washer, my shop vac, my power drills and my air compressor. I went out to use one or more of those objects a couple times this summer and they just weren't there anymore. Absolutely maddening.
