How many Wii-U's do you have on Preorder???

None.

I won't be buying any new consoles. There's a giant backlog of games I haven't played, or never got a chance to complete growing up. I figure that's more than enough for me.

Lol I actually stopped playing Zelda a few weeks after it came out. It was fun, good game, however I went out of the country for 3 weeks and when I got back I never fired it up again

1 Deluxe all paid off too.

I wasn't really paying attention when they started preordering, so I missed out initially. I got lucky when a coworker decided they couldn't afford theirs and let me take it over. They even offered to let me keep the deposit.

I just read on another forum that Wal-Mart started accepting pre-orders through their Layaway for these.

Just a heads up for anyone who may have missed. I'm sure these will go fast once the news spreads.

Still no support for standard DVD or BluRay? Pass.

Nintendo will NEVER pay royalties for movie playback...and I want a GAME CONSOLE, not a goddamn overpriced home theatre system. There's plenty of pre-built HTPC solutions to do this, and better than any game console will ever be able to do.

Systems launching at $500+ to cover royalties and added unnecessary hardware for playing games, is not something I'll EVER pay for.
I still remember Sony saying people would get a second job to buy their system...morons, the PS3 came very close to being an outright failure at launch, Sheeple Fanboys kept it afloat until price-cut time.

Glad you said it, because my first thought was the same thing.

It is a GAME SYSTEM... I already have a blu-ray player that does DVD...

All I'm saying. The fact it's 2012 and there sold out of preorders is dumb. That said. The only and I mean only reason I want one. Is zombie u

You 2 read my mind. Just let a game system be a game system, besides at this point Who doesn't have a blueray player or dvd player anyways. I have like 3 sitting in my garage, on top of my vcrs and a beta that i dont use but just cant throw out

Only reason I would pre-order one is to sell for profit. I have 0 interest in the Wii-U.

I feel the same. I'd preorder a couple and sell them for profit but Im seriously so loaded down with cash** that I just don't care.

*not a fact, im just too lazy to preorder to scalp one.

You have a point. Who'd ever want a device to do more than one thing...that's crazy...I like having a tangle of wires behind my TV...that's why God invent zip ties, right? Imagine if they made a camera inside a phone that tells the time, plays mp3s (or mp4s) and has gps? No one would ever buy such a monstrosity. ;-)

I have an HTPC type setup that I can upgrade, I don't want my game consoles having a bunch of crap added on that's outdated a mere few months after it's launch, and I'm not paying for it so that people like yourself can have it.

If I want all that crap, I'll play my games on a PC...that's the point of a console!

Who uses DVDs or Blu-rays these day anyway?
But for someone looking for just a game system, this goes way beyond that. No official word, but I believe that the Wii U will support streaming videos. And it will certainly suppport netflix.

I think the extended TV capabilities seem pretty innovative, especially for sports

0. Echoing what was said above, already have too many games and not enough time to play them all.

Plus the Wii U is region locked, which sucks for us Aussies.
