How many spare CRT's is enough

Currently at 8 televisions, 9 raster monitors or parts thereof, 40+ color or black and white vector monitors, not counting the ones in games that are in storage. Oh yeah, and the 12 vector monitors on the side of the house.

I've got one working tube in my cabinet, another tube that came with my cab which is fine except for a small abrasian smack dab in the middle of the screen. The K7000A I currently have in the cab will go on that spare 25" tube it came with.

Also have a spare 19" CRT tube from the old TV I had as a kid. Can still use that in a future cab if needed.

I always say "CRTs are never spares. They're just great tubes waiting for a home".

So far, all I have is the one my NES is hooked to. Once I buy a house this winter, I'm gonna start stocking up. Is there a guide on what to look for in a donor tv?

It is usually the wood grain RCA's or Zenith's. If it was made in the USA, it probably is good.

From the look of it, I am at the lower end. I might have to stock up some more.

You're lucky. Goodwill stopped taking them in or selling them by me. Now the only freebees I get are ones I see while walking the dog.

You gotta beat the low lifes that smash the back open and bust the tube to get the yoke for scrap. I always wonder just how much $ that could bring?

It be surprised if was even $1. Copper must be low though, there's a 27" tv in the alley behind my house that's been sitting there for a week. The 19" that they tossed at the same time is in my garage :)

Just picked up 3 more today , was out and about not even looking for em lol.
One is pretty old, have to check it out and see whats inside.
