How many projects at the same time?

I guess it depends on how you definite project. I say a project is a game that's not playable or has some issue(s) that prevent it from working. Really if you nitpick hard enough nearly every game can be considered a 'project' to some degree with an endless list of things to do no matter how insignificant they are. That being said, I made a promise to myself and girlfriend that I can't buy another game unless every other one is at least functional. Of course there are exceptions to this rule if something incredible turns up, but I've been pretty good at keeping my word here. I've had Tempest holding me back for a little while now and once it's hopefully fixed next week then all bets are off.

Exactly! and that's the issue, there are ENDLESS EXCEPTIONS! ALWAYS! your promise to
yourself is null and void cuz of this. There are so many $100 games out there, Donkey Kong,
Tempest, Asteroids, Gyruss, Indiana Jones:TOD, Defender, Wizard Of Wor, Gorf, Mappy,
Pole Position, Blue Print, Galaga, Centipede, Millipede, Spy Hunter, Joust, Zoo Keeper, Qix,
Elevator Action, Jungle Hunt, Rampage, Mortal Kombat, Stargate, Omega Race, Gravitar,
Pooyan, Juno First, Marble Madness, Bubbles, Frogger, Galaxian, DJ Jr, DK 3, Klax, Tetris,
Space Invaders, Dig Dug, Bosconian, Varkon, Baby Pac-Man, Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, and
10,000 more games I didn't feel like typing for no apparent reason...

$100 endless games. All the time. Facebook groups, KLOV, and CL. Always.

everyone is different... I cant stand having broken shit around.

My games all work and if they dont I fix them asap, if I cant figure it out it I ask for help from someone who knows better then I do.

You could offer me pretty much any game for cheap and if its all fucked up I would pass.

Ive been down the road of having too much stuff I dont have time for and a storage space and learned my lesson.

Haha yep, you're exactly right! The temptation of a $100 or less game is too great not to break your own laws and rules for especially for any of the titles you listed. This is how we all end up with tons and tons of projects despite the countless cries of "okay this is the last one" we tell ourselves and everyone else. Gotta love the philosophies of arcade collecting.

Wish I had this problem.
Only a few times in a few years are there real machines for sale that I can drive to pick up.
And those are always thrashed and expensive.

And I still have so many projects I can't count (but I'm still learning- a lot.)

thats tough- there should be a formula for this - like working games> projects but tbh-
I think you buy something you like we you see a good deal- so I have projects> working cabs ;) - but I am working on it
Your project collection is impressive to say the least!

my post you quoted was over 5 years ago!!! endless shittons of shit changes in that time frame.

1ish cabinet at a time is my rule. I don't have the space or time for more. Board projects though, that's another story, I have no shortage of boards that I gotta fix on the junk shelf.

I just finished building 2 of the same cabinet at once and I don't think I'll ever do that again. I like to be focused on one thing at a time and although I was just doing double the work it was like 10x the headache for some reason.

Try having something custom made. There is no onesies. Or, bulk cap buys to save on shipping.
