I was just wondering if I am the only one that works on multiple projects at one time?
My thing is if I am going to paint one cabinet I may pull in another cabinet that needs painting also (as long as it is the same color).
Or if I am waiting for a part for one I will start on another.
Presently I have eight machines in the shop that I am jumping back and forth from.

They are; Armor Attack: Cabinet repair, control panel rebuild, power supply redo.
Galaxian: Monitor rework, t mold, repaint the black part of the cabinet, redo the
control panel.
Berzerk: Just painted the back door to complete a total restoration.
Spy Hunter: Completed a total restoration but waiting on a remake of the cpo.
(Even had all the steering yoke parts powder coated).
Missile Command: Finishing touches on side art to complete a total restoration.
Sea Wolf: Just completed last coat of paint on newly constructed step
and having boards reworked.
Astro Blaster: Doing cabinet repair to ready for installation of wood grain
laminate, reworking control panel, rebuilding monitor, (to start).
Baby Pac: Had to replace top of cabinet and install new t mold, need to clean
play field.

I think this is the most that I have worked on at one time......Fun,Fun.......

Buck Rogers - Pretty much everything: Needs side of cab replaced, monitor and PCB fixed, new CPO and side art...

Boot Hill - Needs a monitor and background artwork, control panel wiring fixed, plus both doors replaced in back

Centipede cocktail - Totally water damaged, needs all wood parts remade, which for the most part is done now and just needs paint and assembly, going to probably become a Millipede or something else.

Laser Cue pinball - Has weird tilt and score problems triggered by a couple of bumpers, drop target stuck, playfield artwork is totally shit

Road Blasters - Used to be in a reset loop but now doesn't turn on anymore, ARIII already rebuilt, suspect big blue maybe, could also use some cab work.

Monaco GP cabaret - Needs a good repainting, side art if possible and re-assembly, hopefully will work.

Turbo cabaret - Needs the shifter and monitor installed plus the PCB fixed

Asteroids cabaret - Needs serious cab work and was stuck in reset loop when last turned on

Battlezone - Needs about 1 foot of the bottom replaced all around due to water damage, and was stuck in reset loop when last turned on, I also have high score save kit to install.

Ms Pacman - Getting converted into a multi, needs repainting and all hardware installed.

How many projects? typical answer too many. laughs.
Ms pac man Needs a few chips to get the original board working once again. Joy stick need need rubber. cable has a open some place sound kicks in and out. Monitor need to be recapped. Need some GE555 bulbs. All waiting for these parts to show up.
NBA Jam need a New CPO old one has scribbles of some gang banger on it. Need some glass or plastic for the front bezel.
The two galaga their new CPO have show up and I need to rebuild them.
The tempest has board issues. I need to pull the machine out and touch up the connectors.
I got a tapper glass bezel that I going to use some 3m product to see if that will make the scribblings go away.
I need to install the card reader and the 4 slot mother board into the neo geo game.

Having arcade games is like owning a a home. There is always something to work on.

didnt get squat done this week

except for installing the 96 in 1 Pac multi onto the PAC MAN pcb
supposedly have to move 2 cabinets tomorrow that i bought last week
cant remember what they are. 25 inch monitor cabs type

Reactor, Qbert, Tron and Berzerk are all in the final stages. Wild Kingdom and my Exidy 440 up next.

I have numerous projects. Those where I have started work and then stopped for one reason or another are pooyan, dk jr, burgertime, paperboy, ghost busters, metro cross, multi jamma cab. Probably more but those come to mind. A ton of fixes need to be done. Currently I'm not actually working on any of these though.

space invader cocktail needs a working rom board sorting out,new cp overlays, top art underlay and a bezel for round the monitor/perhaps some tinted plexi also.

i also got a bosconian/galaga conversion on its way from germany that will be a lot of work.

;)

Being it summer the stuff in the basement is sitting as I get to work in the garage...

So..in the Basement:

Star Wars upright: rebuild 6100 and ARII. Board has a vector draw issue

Tempest: Stole monitor to test the SW..also has a board issue

Daytona Twin: Left side started have VR issues..not working on this one yet and that burn a couple ROMS for it

Garage:
Just Finished my 60-in-1 build from scratch in a gutted Pac cab

Millipede: Finally gave up a on a flaky TM202 and stuck a G07 in it. Also had a board issue I never figure out. Picked up a different board. Just finished this a couple days ago.

DK3: Had a PS issue..still. When unplugged for a long period of time the game boots flipped and locks up. If it stay plugged in (even with the power off which make absolutely no sense) it boots normal. Tried a known working PS from my DKJR and new power cord..same thing

Sea Wolf: tested with a working board..thus needs board work. Have had the board sitting here at work for a couple months..no free time to look at it

Defender: (Currently the one I'm going after) Thrust stay 'on' regardless of any controls hooked up or if the interface board it attached to the main PCB

Star Trek: G08 need a rebuild..sent the g08 boards to a fellow klover.

Star Wars Cockpit: Getting close with this one...amp rebuild but has a strange focus issue. It test fine on another AMP thus I'm not sure what this issue is. I started working on this guy in the spring but stepped away from it cuz it was driving me nut. Haven't made it back to it

BattleZone: Bought with a monitor issue..still playable but after about a half hour the picture would stretch across the screen. Now it had a vector issue..not sure if its the board or a continuation of the flaky monitor. Haven't looks at this one yet

Funny.. I just told the wife.."winters coming" Thus the garage games need to make it to the basement real soon! Everything in the garage was stuff I picked up this spring

I've only got a couple going during the summer:

Joust - Just picked it up DOA last week and need to fix the bottom of the cabinet before I can even start troubleshooting

Millipede - Fine tuning the board

Fascination pong clone - Cleaning the control since they are "jumpy" right now

Berzerk - Fine tuning the monitor

My current garage

I have a whole thread devoted to this, but I can summarize:

  1. 301 / Bullseye pin: no sound (misisng pcb)
  2. Space Invaders cocktail: needs power supply fixed, monitor: unknown
  3. Vs Hogan's Alley: needs smoke plexi cut
  4. Playchoice conversion: awaiting restoration
  5. Asteroids Deluxe: needs water damage repair (or cab swap)
  6. Omega Race cocktail: monitor blooming, needs HV diode
  7. Six JAMMA cabs in my garage awaiting sale (or installation at local movie theater)
  8. Missile Command: needs cap kit
  9. Nintendo Mini: needs overhaul
  10. Firepower pin: needs rubbers, credit knocker fixed
  11. Ms Pac: under complete restoration. Parts everywhere. Cab currently out for painting.
  12. Double Dragon: needs new JAMMA connector fitted.
  13. Arkanoid II: needs to be placed on location.
18 cabs at this point, all under some state of repair or needing attention.

Projects, or items that need fixing on the games?

Project:
Space Invaders Pin. It's to the point I can take it into the game room now. Working and playable. Left to do is replace some playfield light sockets and find out why 4 of the backglass sequencing lights aren't working.

Fixes I need to do:
Q*bert - moved it 3 three feet to the left, now it won't start a game, sigh, POS.
Berzerk - need to install my new Perfect360 joystick
RFM - testing shows two bad switches. I need to find them and replace them.
