how many of you hate MAME machines?

I've done a bunch of MultiGames and I'm working on a VectorMAME project now. As I've done in the past, if I'd have to destroy an original (nice) control panel to make it work with the game, I find another one and leave the original in-tact. When I did my Multi-Williams, I got a StarGate and a Robotron panel and put all the original style buttons back in. The only thing I added was buttons next to the sticks for Joust play. When I want to change between Defender/Stargate games and Joystick games, I just swap the control panels (I made this pretty easy to do). You really get the right feel for the games when you play them this way.

I also make any changes I do fully reversable. My Gyruss has the Konami 80's Board running on a JAMMA harness and I can switch it back and change the control panel back to all original in about 30 minutes. Having collected for so long, I just can't get myself to kill a classic!

I am working on my first MAME cab right now. It just came down to a space issue and some variation. I found a gutted/MAME'd cab already, I'm just gonna dress it up as a SF2WW. No franken-panel for me! :-D

Some of the ones I've seen on YouTube are pretty funny. Its like Pimp-your-ride arcade edition!
