How many of you are holding onto brand new NES games?

I've got one, a sealed Blaster Master in a acrylic game case. Wish I had more.

I got a Godzilla, Tetris and Punch out once for $5 each or something like that. Sold the Punch out for $500 on Ebay (someone emailed me an offer and I took it, it was long ago enough ago that there was no such thing as buy it now). I still have the others.

What's an acrylic game case? I don't have any factory sealed, but I have about a dozen that are CIB mint like new, I want to get rid of them. I have no desire to own any factory sealed NES games.

I bought one of those CGA acrylic cases to protect the game. I'm not huge on brand new NES games since they are so expensive but its hard to find nice original NES games in the box where the boxes aren't crushed.

That's amazing @ CWales on the Punch-Out!!

I have an overwhelming fear of re-sealed Nintendo games - H-seams or not. I've bid on a few, but only if they have a price sticker and a hang-tag. Don't actually own any though.

I have two sealed copies of RBI Baseball,a sealed NES Playaction Football, and a VGA graded 85 River City Ransom. I would love to get the Mega Man and Castlevania games graded, but those are all on the plus side of $500,with the first Mega Man and Castlevania being on the north side of $1000. Screw that.
Mint CIB will be fine for me and roughly a tenth of those sealed prices.

That's bonkers - but it might turn into a great long-term investment - Both of those games are hard find with good condition boxes, even unsealed - when you do see them they go HIGH.

I've got a sealed SMB 3. Looks so minty! It's not from the NES Challenge Set.

$200 and I'll let it go.

If I ever got the sealed Mega Man NES games I'd never sell them, but as much as they seem to go for,I doubt I'll ever own any of them.

I'm going to be 100% honest, I'd love the fact that I had found one, I'd never buy one at market value, and I'd probably try to hold onto it for a while, but any video game worth $1000+ is going to auction eventually. Nothing sealed that I can't play with, is worth more than $1000+ in cash - to me. LOL

I found this ebay guide on factory sealed nes games on ebay - Pretty rad. It also makes me feel even more uneasy about putting money into sealed games. I bet there are a shitload of fakes out there being passed off as legit.

+1

There are probably plenty of people out there with access to shrink wrap machines so it makes you wonder how many fakes there are.

I don't get hardcore collectors that could spend 1G or more on a NES game. I guess if they have all the money in the world and want to have a ridiculous collection, more power to them. It's something I'd never personally try to do though.

I don't own any sealed games, but I do have a decent number of CIB games. Here are a few of my favorite Capcom ones that I'd say are NM:

Check out this picture from a Capcom Craze Club (frequent buyer club for Capcom line of NES games) insert that was in Nemo. I wonder how many guys in here looked like that back then (1989-1990)? :D:

That's pretty scary and didn't escape my mind. Good thing I didn't spend much on this game although I will be checking mine tonight :)

I wouldn't spend the amount of money people are paying for sealed NES games. I'd be fine with CIB games in nice boxes.

My room was much messier. And I NEVER had a mullet.

Come on, Matt. Don't lie.

I had a bowl cut in 89-90 (6-7 years old). It happened, but I'm not going to post pics. :D

P'shhh amateurs - I had the works - bowl cuts, pineapples, and in 3rd grade had MKII shaved into the back of my head for summer camp.
