So I was getting a few cabs ready for CAX that don't have Freeplay on the board.

Following something I read from bob's site a long time ago I thought to use it for CAX.

Since i'm doing it on Double Dragon type cabs it was really simple to do.

Because of the breakout board on DD and the fact that COIN and P2 are next to each other it was just one wire to jump both leads... pretty simple.

The logic is to just tap the P2 Start button to add one coin. The problem is that if you hold it for a second then you have the coin jam error and the whole thing restarts. Many of these games are nice in that they use coin ups from either slot. DD registers both coin chutes as P1 Coin anyways.

Anyone else use this for their machines? I need to do this for my Operation Thunderbolt now.

My Mortal Kombat came wired so that p1 and p2 start was also connected to each coin slot. Ridiculous because mk1 has free play! I fixed that first thing.

I did that on the Ms. Pac I used to have; pretty slick. I even installed a pole switch so that the free play mod could be turned off/on.

This is how we set games up for free play at the Seattle show. We use jumpers with aligator clips connecting P2 start to either coin limit switch because it is quick and easy. On a few games this doesn't work properly, but for the vast majority it is a quick and easy fix. We try and test this before the show with as many machines as possible. It is also a good idea to put a note on the machine in a contrasting color explaining how to coin it up.

I'd say the biggest thing out techs deal with throughout the show is people complaining that games will not start, normally it is a case of the person failed to look for the sign...
