In your opinion how many games in one's collection makes that person a big time collector? For me,I consider someone with over 25 games to be in that category. Not saying there aren't big time collectors with less games, but when I see someone's vaps profile with more than 25 games,I take notice.

15 games: is a huge gameroom collector.

25 games: enough cabs to fill a basement arcade

40 games: big time collector who has to start putting cabs in storage/ sheds/ garages.

50-100 games: Officially a big time collector

100-200: Mini museum collector

200-500: operator/ vendor/ no longer a collector

When it's actual cabinets, then that's notice-worthy, but I'd say someone who has 25+ WORKING games is worthy of that title. I personally have about 27 (got rid of 5 cabs a few months ago), but you can't play them all. Storage is full of projects. I'd say of the 27, about 16 are plug and play, another 6 are a short afternoon from playing, and the rest are still in the "gathering parts" stage....

This is why I take claim to the SECOND largest collector in Arizona.

Post it up Buttercup! Let the derailment begin! :D

31 uprights, 3 cockpits, 13 pins, 3 projects. The only thing the wife and kids say is dad has ocd and a bad habit.

That's probably the best description I have ever read. I personally have 34 working games, and yes they fill a basement arcade. If I got creative I could fit 4 more in there. Basically if I hit 40, as he says, they are going into the garage or storage. Nice call, this should be an official listing.

Shouldn't the quality of the games be taken into consideration? A warehouse full of Pit-Fighters wouldn't be impressive in my book.

All working right here. I have a Galaxian in the shop but it works just fine as well.

I am officially out of room, again. Now I am looking to sell one or two to free up some space.

My e-penis is

this big!

Sorry. I mean. Is the answer 20-ish cabinets? Do I win the serious collector achievement?

Fun question and all, but status should be the absolute least important thing in this hobby...or any like it (second least is worrying about getting back on your "investments"). You're on a fast track to an eventual "wtf am I even doing this for?" moment otherwise.

Personally I wouldn't find that impressive. However, Japan used to have entire arcades devoted to Space Invaders. I recall more than one arcade as a youth with rows of either Pacman, Ms Pacman or Donkey Kong... entire rows. So if Pit Fighter is your arcade flavor...well... to each his own. I would think having a large selection of working games is a worthy feat. Anyone can go buy up Dead Row at a Super Auctions for $10 each, that doesn't make a collection. However, buy up Dead Row and get them all working, I'd give you a pat on the back ;)

I have over 200 games but sans a couple of them they are all different. I may operate but the point was to be able to make money off this collection and not keep them rotting away in storage like 80 of the games are right now...

and I am way too lazy to put everything on my VAPS profile, LOL

I'm happy right now with the game room...everything always works and I have them on ALOT!

I don't know but I do know that if you have now idea how many games you have, it automatically constitutes a horde.

Games

I have been hovering around 100 complete games for a while now. around 65 working and 35 or 40 real nice ones. 30 of them are in my arcade. I dont count empty cabs as games. I do not consider myself a heavy hitter. I was at a guys place last week and he had 72 nice working pins set up in one room. Most of them were sought after titles. I consider him a heavy hitter. I should keep my VAPS updated but it changes so much it is hard to keep it current.

I have 56 working between the home bar and the 2 game rooms, and 18 in the separate shop that 1/2 work. I do not think that i would be considered a heavy collector. I think 200 or so would be a little closer to that category.

I should add that with my 20-30 games, I don't consider my self a "heavy hitter".

I just wanted to say that I have games to play and share. Not for the sheer numbers. If I get more than 1 or 2 games that don't work, I start scrambling to get them rolling again.

I have personally heard of more than a couple 100+ home collections. That is pretty bad ass.
