Does Daphne qualify as Mame? I am running it in my DL and SA ded projects currently under build. Both cabs are brand new with WG VGA monitors, repro except for coin doors and control panel in DL, Everything including scoreboards are 100% new. Why bother with a laser player for these as I owned originals in the past and they always needed some TLC at the worst time. DL is running hyperspin, a JPAC with player 2 button doubling as second button. OS shells into Hyperspin on DL directly with instantshell tool. Scoreboards are powered from 5V with a USB cable. Very neat and tidy wiring. I think Space Ace will boot directly if I can get intantshell tool to work with daphne instead of a batch file. I also plan on converting these to SSD.
Emulation has is purpose and it os good when done right. Arcade Shop PCB, ArcadeSD is great, JROK board is awesome even though not really 100% emulation, 60 in 1 is good for saving cabs. Mame is also good if put in a cabinet done clean without every control under the sun. Dedicated is the best of course but who has room for 60 games in their house. I did fit 10 vids and 2 pins in a small space with a bar
I wish I could fit more and will find a way without resorting to backup garagecade.
