Out of all the games that have been converted, upgraded, mutilated, etc., what percentage do you think were able to be brought back from the Dark Side? And of that guess, how many have you helped first-handedly in the cause by converting back yourself? Pics would be great to see what you have returned from the Land of the Dead..

I myself have not yet converted a cab back to its original form [yet, that is]- however, my TRON black light cover needed to be reverted back to a TRON part after someone had put some lame graphic over top of it. It was a success. :D

It's sad to say, but I would think that definitely less than 1% of converted games have been brought back.

I personally have never "de-converted" a game. I thought about changing my Time Soldiers back to a Zaxxon for a while, but I ended up realizing that I just didn't have the money to do that.

De-converted a Xenophobe from a Mortal Kombat. I got really lucky in that the original parts that were removed from the cab were in the shop. It was just a matter of removing the MK parts and replacing the Xeno parts.

I'm in the process of restoring a Stargate. I've got everything except the wiring harness.

I've been trying too reconvert my Lost Tomb back too Scramble all I need is the Wiring Harness. Anyone have a Complete working one for sale?

I tested out both time pilot and scramble PCB's in my Lost Tomb. What exactly are you missing? If you have a complete LT harness, you only need to repin the control panel molex.

I bought a mania challenge (qbert cab)
and converted that bitch back to pristineness.

Cost me about $800 (that includes the $25 I paid for the game, lol)

I have converted back an mk2 that was painted all black and made into a umk3. Also converted back a painted black mk3 that was converted to killer instinct.

In 25+ years, I have only done:
bone crusher => crystal castles
10 yard fight => blaster

Working on
russian attack => track and field

as for how mnay converted back, I would say less than 1%.

I was told i would need a New Harness *working Scramble one*

I do not know how too Repin the cp Molex. Is there sites and so how that show how to do this?

First off, just install a Scramble PCB, fire it up, and see what happens with the controls on the LT CP. If the controls work right, you are done. If not, you would need to figure out what button/joy direction does what on the LT set-up, then follow their corresponding wires to the CP molex, then get one of Bob's pin extractor tools, push each pin out and match them up to the ones on the CP harness for Scramble.

I converted an Altered Beast back to Robotron, then sold it when I needed some cash so it is out there somewhere. :D

Here's my list of games that were rescued from a conversion. First is the converted cab -> then restored game.

Mr. Do -> Frogger
Capcom Bowling -> Scramble
Ring King -> Dig Dug
Mania Challenge -> Centipede
Super Volleyball -> Missile Command
Sega Baseball -> Mouse Trap
Atomic Boy -> Wizard of Wor (cabaret)
Choplifter -> Phoenix

and

Star Wars UR that had been gutted and outfitted with a N64 with 19" television. The controller had been removed and replaced with a steering wheel. Took about two years to get it back to original condition and playable again.

What a travesty. You sir are a saint. :)

i have done Metafox back to Ms. Pac (still needs kickplate and side art) and Task Force Harrier back to Gorf (everything works now but sound.)

in the garage is a Golden Axe that's going back to Bosconian (i have all the parts for it now,) and a Juno First cab that i had no idea what it was converted to but i have the PCB and CP for.

In 14 years of collecting i have done Three

Galaga, Q*Bert, and Burgertime

I'll restore the games but will never buy a game that has been converted and try to put it back to original again. I just finished a Q*bert and the process was tough finding parts and way more expensive.

Braido...

Now neither of these two are really "de-conversion"... but sort of close...

First off we have a real asstastic Caliber .50 to Multipede:

Then we have a pretty beat down Ataxx to Williams Multigame:
