How many games in your opinion would one have to own to have a true arcade? I was thinking 10, but again my opinion.

i say to have a true arcade then minimum is 25. anything below that i'd say is just a gameroom. and yes there is a difference between the 2. you don't have an arcade in your basement/garage/whatever room in your house.... you have a gameroom.
I hope it's not 10 because I only have 6 games. I would agree with Phet. If you can form some walkway or corner of games, I think that could be considered an arcade.
Though I looked up the definition being the nerd I am:
-noun: an establishment, public area, etc., containing games of a mechanical and electronic type, as pinball and video games, that can be played by a customer for a fee.
Based on this, I guess a lot of us technically don't have an arcade since we don't charge a fee. If one disregards the fee part, then I would say anyone with 2 or more games has an arcade since "games" is plural in the definition.
I beg to differ.
Ahhh but the definition says (Can be played by a customer for a fee) It does not say they MUST pay LOL
I'd say 4. That way you could have 2 opposing walls with 2 games each and create a walk space between them. I have a small room off my main gameroom that currently houses 7 games, and it feels more like an arcade than my larger, main game room which housed 15 at one time.
Lol it seems shit storms are thrived upon here, no biggieMy answer was just trying to be funny/sarcastic, I guess I shoulda put a smiley on it.
I don't know even BITD when I went to a pizza joint that had a room just for games I never considered it to be an arcade. Just a game room. TO me an arcade was either a business just dedicated to arcade games or in some cases like the mini golf, water slide arcade combos I would still consider them to have an arcade due to the number of games and the fact that the games are almost always housed in a separate building than the other activities. I own lots of games but still don't really think of what I have as an arcade. I guess where I draw the line is having a separate building for the games. In my eyes Luna City would qualify as an arcade. Although technically an arcade is a business so in that sense almost none of us have an arcade.
Agreed...your words are poetry in motion......But call it what you want... I like what someone said earlier about it "feeling" like an arcade... if you can walk into a home arcade and have it feel like you're right back in 1983, then by all means, you have yourself an arcade.
