How many arcade games do you own that you DON'T play?

How many arcade cabs do you have in your collection that don't get played?

Is it because the games aren't working, working but in storage, working but not enough room in the garage to get to them to play them? Or you've got better arcade games to play and the less enjoyable ones just sit there taking space? Or are you just busy with every day life and your games will have to wait till you get to spend quality time with them?

How many "keepers" do you have that haven't been played for a while? And how often do you buy games that you don't realy want or need, but only intend to "flip" or part-out for a profit?

What's your story and what are you gonna do about it?

Personally, I need to sell off some games to make room in my garage so I can play my "keepers".

at the moment none of my games are getting played. Most are packed into my house and garage storage style at the moment. Have been that way since my games came back from CAX. Right after CAX I spent a week in Memphis for work and then shortly after started working on the game room itself. New carpet, lighting etc. This work is not done so the games are currently displaced and sitting dormant.

I have fully working games that aren't even plugged in at my place because I don't play them. Other games that are plugged in I don't play too much because they are more fun when they are played with friends (Blasteroids as an example) but I still play them some. I do have a bunch of dead games right now that I need to get to but haven't yet. I am at the point where I own games that I bought, cleaned up, have no interest in, and need to sell, but just haven't gotten around to it.

Storage:
Punch Out!! - Working
Aliens - Working
Ninja Gaiden - Working
Black Tiger - Working
Vs. Castlevania - Working

Non working:
Arkanoid - New Harness
Black Widow - Waiting on monitor
Tempest - should be up and rolling TODAY!

If I had more room, I would have the games back. I just don't have the room right now.

Quit storing those games! Keep them in my new arcade room!

:D

The only games I have played in the last month or so are Stunt Cycle and Gaplus. I have some nagging issues with a few of the games (Donkey Kong, Tempest, and Neo Geo), so they aren't being played. Millipede is torn down waiting for the CPO and marquee to be replaced. I am about 90% sure that I will mess those up, so I haven't done them yet.

I just brought home Pinbot and NBA Jam projects last week, so I am spending most of my arcade time working on those.

I intentionally have the seats not fully mounted on the Hydro Thunders to keep me from playing them. I need to get all of these games fixed. It is starting to drive me nuts to still have all of these projects.

Its not a vid but my pin is broke :( but all the rest of mine get played (all 4 LOL) there all expendable except my playchoice. My father gave me the PC and ill most likely never part with it.

I don't play the broken or flaky ones-

Galaxian
Tempest
Rampage World Tour
APB
Star Trek 1/3
Spy Hunter
Battlezone
Space Fury
Space Invaders
Tron

Of the working ones, these don't get much play either:
Star Trek cockpit
Star Trek w multigame
PacMan
Challenger
Xybots
Tempest
Stargate
Paperboy

They're kind of like children-
If you've got a lot of them, you can only pay close attention to a few at a time.

Maybe I'll go play a few neglected ones now...

I have found that limited space kinda forces me into keeping only games that I play. A good example is that I recently replaced a Dig Dug with a Robotron. I like Dig Dug, but not nearly as much as Robotron.

But now I have decided that I can squeeze in 2 more games. One will be Tempest, but the other I'm undecided on. I'm leaning toward Galaga.

My Street Fighter III: New Generation will probably never get played again now that I've upgraded to SF III: 3rd Strike.

Marvel vs Capcom 2 never gets played. It works, I just hate it. HATE IT, lol. But the cab can be used for other games.

I can honestly say I haven't bought a single game just to flip, and don't plan to. Seems like kind of a hassle, especially after reading some of the horror stories on these forums.

I have a horizontal JAMMA cab with Soul Calibur on it that I rarely play. It works fine, I'm just not that into fighting games. I keep it around for friends and family that like them.

I occasionally put a horizontal shooter in there and play.

This. My game room is only 11 x 12, so I have to keep games I play in there. I stress "I", because I'm the only one who plays Karate Champ and it's in the room. I do have games in various states of completion in the garage, which I will rotate in and out of the room. My kids are bugging me to move in Time Pilot and Karate Champ out. I'm currently redoing my game room floor, so this might be a good time to do a rotation to make them happy.

I have a lot of games (30+) and they get played when people come over. I find I go through phases when I feel like playing something and I turn it on and play it. Some games, like Battlezone just take too long to play for me so I don't go back as often as I should. I only have 4 games needing repairs/rebuilds so those are excluded. To me, the customizing or restoration of games is sometimes more fun than playing. I know, that's weird.

I have 7 cabs in my house....

Donkey Kong (*KEEPER)
Space Invaders (*KEEPER)
Polaris (*KEEPER)
CarnEvil (*KEEPER)
VS Red Tent
Naughty Boy
EMPTY NINTY CAB

I am trying to sell off the empty cab, Naughty Boy, and the Red Tent. The Red Tent, CarnEvil, and Donkey Kong get the most play. I still play Sapce Invaders and Polaris but not as often. The Naughty Boy is starting to act up on me (lol) so it and the empty are in my work room (A.K.A. Dining Room...pisses the wife off to no end...also lol).

I used to buy games to flip but have transitioned to smaller projects (selling new parts and restoring original parts).

I play all of my working games on a fairly regular basis except Super Mario Bros. My Aztec pin, Gran Trak 10 (monitor issue) and Sprint 2 (board issue) will be fixed eventually. The Asteroids cocktail I have the board being fixed and a new glass underlay coming and then it will be in the house. That will make 2 pins and 4 vids in the house and I'm pretty much maxed out. I may have to make a rotation program once the Sprint 2 is working. - Barry
