I recently bought some pin parts (11/12/12) from a member. I have got couple of excuses why they haven't shipped. I have repeatedly PM'd him with only one response (another excuse) and another unfullfilled promise of shipping. He is active almost every day on here and no response to my PMs. How long do I wait for a PAYPAL claim and outing him on here? This is the first time I have not gotten superior service from a fellow KLOVer. I have never made a PAYPAL claim, what are my chances of getting my money back? I have bought and sold lots of stuff here and have never had a issue, I guess I'm lucky.

If you've tried to contact him multiple times and still get the same BS but no parts, fuck him. File the claim. I am getting sick to death of lazy-assed people with no common courtesy.

I agree....if you are on this site, then you have time to reply to pm or email....out the guy and ask him point blank to send the stuff or refund the cash....simple....

I am curious about if money that is 'gifted' can be open to a claim? If its a 'gift' I do not believe you can file a claim.

I guess it depends. If he told you he would ship them out promptly or he runs a business selling parts, a much shorter period is warranted. If the part is particularly delicate and needs some special consideration when shipping (he needed time to find a specific box) or if he told you up front that buying/selling/shipping parts is not his priority, then some slack is warranted.

My guess is that this person falls into the first category since he is giving you excuses rather than just saying outright that he is in no hurry. In that case, you have given him almost three weeks. That seems like enough time.

When I sell on eBay, I ship within 24 hours of payment.

When I sell here, I tell people up-front that if they are on a time crunch they should probably buy from someone else. Why the difference? I usually hope to meet fellow collectors and invite them to pick up items or have them "piggyback" with someone doing a game run through my area. If that doesn't happen, I may have to build a box from scratch for items like monitors or glass bezels which I can only work in on a week end. When I sell on eBay, shipping is assumed so I have shipping materials ready before I even list the item.

I never give people excuses... only facts.

Oh, yeah, and post dude's name. Every time one of these threads gets started, the offender is protected at first, and remains silent. When the offending party is eventually outted, he actually attempts to do something about it, or catches hell for not.

He's not a business. I found the items in an old FS post here. PMd him asked if they were avaliable, they were, paid via PAYPAL (not gifted) and he said they would be shipped in a couple of days. Nothing, no responses to PMs even though he was on here almost every day. Finally a response saying the holidays got in the way and he would ship them. Nothing, sent another PM asking about shipping and a refund if not. He was on here this morning. NO responses. I sent another PM today asking of update. PAYPAL dispute coming by Friday if nothing more. Now I am concerned that the stuff I get won't be what I ordered or working. Gotta question everything about the transaction now.

He put the onus on himself when he said "a couple of days" whether he is a business or not. You won't be the one who "outs" him... he did it himself when he didn't do what he said he would do.

You can always start a dispute which can be later escalated to a claim if things go south. At least that way you are assured to be inside the PayPal time window.

Amazing enough, Just got a PM stating that it was just mailed. Tracking number PMd later, we'll see. I'll keep this updated. The window is the end of the work week for an "Active" tracking number.
