Here's my list:

1. I got an AWESOME Father's Day gift this year, after doing a trade with a fellow KLOVer for my second pinball machine. No offense to my kids or my wife, but that was the best Father's Day gift I've gotten yet!

2. Thanks to an awesome KLOVer, I was given the opportunity to get back my actual Robotron: 2084 machine that I was forced to sell when I lost my job a few years ago. We were able to work a trade out, and the person who traded with me was VERY patient until we could both make a time to meet up. I mean seriously, what are the chances of getting back a game like Robotron that you had to let go of, and even when you *do* get one back, what are the chances of it being the ACTUAL cab you had before? I'd say the chances are none and none.

3. a group KLOV'ers helped me locate a bunch of .mp3's to assemble an e-copy of an album compilation that I had in 1979 and is not produced on CD today (at least not that I am aware of). Tell me another forum that you know of where people would take the time to help you do something like this. I can't think of many.

4. The jokes and topics here from many many (said in the voice of the old dude in Police Academy) KLOVers have really helped keep me going this year. This has been yet another year for me of long commutes and battles with the bills, and then to boot I took on finishing my Master's degree. So, I need all the laughs I can get.

THANK YOU KLOV.. I KLOV YOU. :D

It has helped keep my bank account from getting where I was hoping to have it by the end of the year.

Thanks KLOV. Don't know what I'd do without you. Besides be more prosperous lol. :/

KLOV helped me raise enough $$$ to cover the cost of my food during my trip to the hospital in Baltimore. Thank you KLOVers!!!

KLOV helped me through the withdrawal of having all my games in storage for half a year.

I got 3 of the games I wanted most this year all from members here. I have wanted Stunt Cycle, Hydro Thunder, and Pinbot for a long time. Thanks Tom, Bill, and John!

I got a Space Duel that I converted to a Multi-Vector(ZVG), A Gravitar, and Parts for the Multi-Vector. I tried to pay it back with tutorials on building the Multi-Vector.

I sold something and the person wasn't happy with it so I had them return it. I refunded the money but the post office lost the package so that sucked.

Overall - glad to be a member!

1. I got all my WoW restore parts from a member here.

2. I got a scan of the WoW control panel silk screen from another member here, and was able to re-create it.

3. I bought my Galaga board from another member here.

4. I bought the 60-in-1 board for my son's Christmas gift from a member here.

5. I have recieved countless hours of entertainment reading the posts here.

Lets see...

I learned that there are a number of very generous, good hearted souls that visit this forum. Though I already knew that... so it wasn't anything new.

This year I learned that my PCB diagnosis and soldering skills aren't up to snuff enough for Omega Race.

I learned that the lamp in Gorf's stick remains ON until you pull the trigger at which time it goes off. I thought it was backwards of that.

I learned a bunch of stuff...

Picked up a couple new games this year, Ms. Pac/Galaga Reunion cocktail and Super Zaxxon, and the site/forums were invaluable for information on the games!

1) KLOV helped me get the Eyes board I was seeking.

2) By posting on KLOV I was able to have another person willing to come out to Galloping Ghost arcade and play and raise money for the Children's Miracle Network charity. (Thanks Greg).

3) KLOV helped me to get my grail machine -- Berzerk with Spaeth ZZPU, so I have Frenzy as well.

4) Lots and lots of entertaining posts!

Helped me sell:
  • ZVG board
  • Tempest multi-board
  • Joust stuff (CP, boards)
Helped me buy:
  • Multiwilliams stuff: JROK board, Phoenix artwork CP+CPO
  • Major Havoc PCB
  • Spare Tempest CP (for Major Havoc conversion)
  • 7" LCD CGA monitor
  • NOS Capcom CPO
  • XY monitor extension cable
  • Vectrex + games
Helped me fix:
  • Way too many to mention
Saved me eBay fees on items where I found the seller on KLOV (it's not hard). Besides, I trust KLOV feedback way more than eBay feedback.

Thanks to the people on KLOV I was able to get some hard to find parts (can you say unobtanium, I thought you could!), met a lot of new friends and kept myself out of bars and brothels by having game boards to fix ;)

Thanks to the folks on KLOV:

1. I was able to get one of my grails.
2. Learn from other SF2 gurus on how to restore them, and learn the history.
3. Get a few boards, CP, artworks that I needed and wanted.
4. Was able to off some unwanted items to those who wanted them.
5. Learn some new tricks/ how toos
and last but not least!
6. Laugh my ass off on some threads

KLOVrs did a lot - thanks to you:

-I could pose n00b questions about monitors and cab cleaning and receive extremely helpful replies, and warm welcomes along the way
-I received invaluable leads for my Magical Spot restoration
-fellow KLOVrs sold me parts for the project, including a coin door, control panel, and PCB

And most of all, KLOVrs provided me the chance to see auctions, warehouse raids, crazy Craiglist ads, weekend finds, holy grail road trips, home arcade videos, neon signs, mystery PCBs - in other words, to be part of a big arcade community on a daily basis!

Cheers!

Finally got a Big Blue thanks to Les Manley pointing the ad out to me. Speaking of why havent I played it more.

1. I won the Any Coin Mech in a contest.
2. Soon I will get Generations Scourge in the mail.

1. Helped fix my Sanyo 20ez in a Donkey Kong and D.K. Junior:D
2. Bought a working Donkey Kong pcb(2-board) from Pacray
3. Bought an empty Nintendo cabinet from Nerdtendo
4. Helped find several resources to spend money on these games and start building a collection again.
5. Helped me develop extreme jealousy for the collectors that have amazing home arcades. Which in turn, gives me inspiration on collecting more games and spending more money and eventually having a great home arcade.:)

6. Helped expose scammers and thieves such as Ram Controls and Michigan Classic Arcade, helping to avoid a waste of time and money.
7. Helped me realize all the time spent playing and collecting these arcade games and pinball machines, etc. is a not a waste of time and money. But indeed, a truly wonderful sickness to have. And is enjoyed by a fairly large population from around the world.:)
