I"m picking up a Ms. Pac-Man tonight after work, but the only person I could wrangle up to help me move it is my wife. She's not going to be able to lift it to help me carry this thing up the stairs where it is currently located and then down the stair to our basement. I do have a dolly to make things a little easier, but I figure a lot of the weight has to be the monitor so if I can get the monitor easily, that should make this do-able.

Generally speaking, I would probably remove the control panel and glass first to avoid accidental glass breakage. Then, unplug the power and video connections to the monitor. There is also a ground strap (green wire) that may or may not be connected to the frame (it should be, at least). There are four bolts that hold the monitor brackets in place. After that, the monitor can be slid out the back of the machine. There are some wires near the back of the machine that you have to be careful not to catch the brackets on.

I have done this several times and the most difficult part is the sudden weight of the monitor as you pull it out. Its 40 or 50 pounds. Not a light thing.

It's just like a few bolts and then it slides out from the back. It's pretty easy.
You have to remove the front glass to access the bolts though, which is also easy.

Very.

Remove the back door, and disconnect the monitor.

From the front, unlatch/remove the control panel and remove the glass/bezel.

There are four bolts in the very corners, holding the monitor mounting brackets to some brackets on the cabinet. Remove those bolts.

Slide the monitor out the back of the game.

Without the back door, monitor, control panel and bezel, the game gets a fair bit lighter.

Yeah without the monitor, cp, and glass..pac cabs aren't too bad for one person to move. Best thing to have is an appliance dolley. I bought one from Home Depot for about 100 bucks almost ten years ago and it has more than paid for itself in this hobby. Just be VERY careful of the monitor..you are screwed if you break the neck.
