How does the new CAX spot compare to the old one ?

I haven't seen it yet but some comments I heard lead me to believe there are either a lot more games this year than usual, or the venue is smaller. Really no clue as of yet which is accurate but I hear the place was filling up rather early in the day which I thought was uncommon compared to the last few years. I'm hoping it's the more games scenario and not the smaller venue possibility.

The new place rocks!! Really nice. I have no idea on a vs. sq. ft. type thing. But it feels big. I left about 8pm...seemed like a lot of games there.

New place = in the hotel I am staying at. 'Nuff said

See you heathens tomorrow!

Is it better ? Worse ? too soon to tell ? Just curious.

It's probably about 25% smaller then Parkside hall. I never like the game layout and I don't like it this time either. My usual gripe is the inner curves where games are just too close together. I think it should be arranged more efficiently like an actual arcade would do it so people don't get crowded between games. It's really not that much different. There is an extra hallway that is now full of games and pins too. Should be a great show! There are also some game I have not see there in a while like dedicated MH, Death Race, and Computer space. Of course all the usual suspects are there.

I just got here & checked out the room...first time, so no point of comparison....but - HOLY FUCKING SHIT - it's AMAZING!!!!!

Seems a bit smaller.. Supposedly the same size (I thought I heard 10,000 sqft).

The pin tournament is out in the hallway so that will be nice. Free up a lot of room for more games inside.

I agree, They should just lay out for maxium usage. Line the walls and lots of rows.

I hope the power is good enough, scott was saying he noticed one section was acting a bit off and not all the games were on yet.

I left at 11:30 and joe was just getting there with his laser games.. There were 2 or 3 other trucks just getting there. Dale was unloading his MC cockpit..

Pain in the ass to move in. At parkside you could drive in and unload. Here is loading docks or ramps. 2x the effort..

As for the show space, its much nicer. Having the hotel there makes it great! Going to 2am will be interesting...

It seems smaller, but deffinately more games/pins.

Was a great day! Got to meet Steve Ritchie, hear him talk about his time with Atari, Willams, and Stern.

It was crowded Saturday, but thinned out a bit in the evening.

Great day!
