How do you tell a u2000 from a u5000 chassis?

I got this one in a bulk deal. I think its u2000, but I am not sure. here are pics. Any good way to tell?

The numbers on the paper label are y45d2193-000F
the neckboard is labeled p719-i
remote board is labeled p718-g

since its missing its fuse, I would assume its bad..

That's a U2000. If it was an U5000 it would have two rows of pins populated in the middle of the board (you can see where they would be - labeled 15KHZ and 25KHZ) to switch it between standard and medium resolution.

Yep, U2000. Some U2000's don't even have the unpopulated silkscreening on them.

The fuse might have been robbed for another game. pop one in and see...

thanks guys..

I dug out a game with a u2000 in it was partially populated which is what confused me. It had just the 15k connector but nothing was connected to it..

That might have been a rarer U5000 that was modified to only work as standard-res. Someone mentioned one a while back.

You'll be able to tell by the positioning of the horizontal width coil. If it's by the HOT, it's a U2000. If it's behind the flyback, it's a U5000....

I put in the fuse in that u2000 chassis and its a weird one... I can hear HV but there is no pic. When I shut off the power I can see something collapse on the screen. Any ideas?

when I put the orignal u2000 chassis back in, I was adjusting the colors and the blue went out. 99% sure there was blue before I was adjusting it. I notice one of the resistors is a bit hot on the neck board.

Those neckboard drive transistors get hot and make the traces lift, which then get broken over time. Just add some jumpers.

As for the other, turn up the brightness with no video connected to see if you have raster or not...
