Back in the day, arcade operators would set up games so you didn't play that long for a quarter, but long enough that you hopefully would deposit another quarter to either continue or try again.

In our homes, I would assume most of us arn't looking to make money.

So do you set the games to default setting, or Twin Galaxies setting (usually default) or do you give a more favourable to the player set of settings?

I own only TAPPER and default woud give you 3 men, with a free man at 20000 and then every 60000 after that. Default skill level is 3.

I set it to give you 5 men, with a free man at 15000 and then every 45000 after that. I set the skill level to 1.

What are your thoughts on settings.

As a side I remeber back in the day, particularly on Double Dragon some arcades would give you only 2 lives to start as opposed to the default 3. I hated those greedy bastards!!! LOL

Usually default settings. If there are no defaults in the manual, then I go by TG settings.

Usually default though I've been playing with easier settings on some of the Neo-Geo fighters. I am not any good at them and with the easier settings I actually can win a couple rounds.

I tend to set my games on the floor facing away from the wall with enough space left in front of them so you can play them if you like.

Don't you kind of feel, as the owner of the game you should ignore the default settings. You own it, you can set it up and play it your way. Something you could NEVER do BITD when you were at the mercy of the arcade opereator. 100% factor default just feels wrong to me, LOL

I hear ya, but you're also not putting in quarters, so playing the default levels don't cost you as much either if you die a lot.

Mine are all on default too but occasionally I'll set Ms Pac or something to start with more men to practice a higher level.
