How do you see your gameroom in 9 months?

This is a good topic, and I think putting this stuff in writing will help some say on track.

As for me, I am going to continue repairing what I have in an attempt to have everything working 100% again. I hope to finish my Virtua Striker 2 ---> Spikeout conversion, so that should be completed and looking nice by years end.

I cannot add anything due to space constraints, but I might look at either selling or trading my Dynamo cut corner Neo for a different cab. A Big Red would fit nicely within the row. I'd also still really like to have a Robotron, so I'd probably find a way to work one in if I found a nice one.

I worked last year at diversifying my collection so others will enjoy it as much as I do. I worked in more uprights, gun games and stick games to broaden the appeal for game days. I will continue to evaluate that, but as I said, I have no room for more. Thus, anything I add will have to be offset by getting rid of something.

In short, my collection should look much the same, but with more working games and possibly more diversity.

We have a new baby due in 6.5 months, which means in about 18.5-19 months, I may be getting kicked out of the Outer Limits. My (then) 8 year old daughter will probably be moving down to that room after our 3rd child turns 1. This has of course started a time bomb ticking that I don't think 'cutting the blue wire' will solve. I currently have 25 games spread across 2 rooms, and 13 more in the garage awaiting restoration. I say we add on to the basement, my wife says I need to sell 3/4 of what I have. This is gonna get ugly.

Wifey and I had a family get-together 2 weekends ago. There were a total of 10 kids under the age of 15. They all had a blast in the gameroom. This has prompted a bit nicer attitude from wifey towards my games. Therefore, removing the couch from the room is again a possibility which would create space for 3-4 additional games. I need to get off my ass and restore what's in my garage to add to the gameroom, then refill the garage with projects...

We will be praying for you Phet.

I'm not touching my game room. If a nice Trimline Space Invaders made itself known to me I might pull the trigger. I would for sure take a trimline Crazy Climber. But other than that the gameroom is static.

Paint "game-room",
Add the rest of the games into "game-room"
Repair games wasn't able to work on before.
Add Black light rug
Add Speakers
Add Lights
Add Signs

99 problems...

Sorry to hear that, Mr. Phetty. Gotta toughen up that pimp hand, good sir.

9 months... Ugh. At the rate I'm going, picking up cabs I don't need just because they're dirt cheap, I'm in trouble. Assuming I decide to not flee my current neighborhood (finances keeping me from doing so) I might enclose my back patio and turn that into the arcade. I'd have to take out a 2nd mortgage though, and my neighborhood keeps getting worse and worse. :( Graffiti has been showing up on block fences everywhere lately, that was never around before. This is in the last year or so. Could just be a couple of punkass kids, but who knows.

So... Either way, improving the house improves its value, unless the surrounding area becomes the ghetto. So I'm very unsure. But I'm hoping to add 700 sq. ft. to my house by enclosing the rear patio the right way - brick that matches the house, professional / contractor wiring, etc. Not gonna be cheap, though. And then I lose my huge back patio that I loved parking my bikes on. :(

Sorry for the book I just wrote, but this thread subject has been on my mind a LOT lately...

I hope to have a gameroom in 6 months, My "Gameroom" is currently occupied by my 22 yr old, and 18 yr old daughters....who have plans to move out this summer......:D fingers crossed......:D

I should be getting a Punch Out and a Playchoice 10. If I can find a cab with Tecmo joys, then I will do a Ninja Gaiden.
There is also a good chance we will be buying a new home within 2011, and that means I will officially have an ARCADE ROOM!!!

I hope my to-do list will be complete!

Work on base Paint job
do blacklight paint detailing
collect more cold war memorabilia
Hook up DVD player and burn a disk with shows
get and hook up speakers
make an "atomic" playlist
get more games!

Don't feel so bad, old pal. I think it will be well worth it. If it makes you feel any better I would burn all my vids on my front lawn if it meant I could have a child.

EDIT: Ok... I didn't mean ME having the child and I can technically have children. For the record ;)
