How do you keep track of your restoration projects?

Only one of the many things I use Evernote for.

I use it for all aspects of my life, but for arcade I keep separate notes for Parts to be ordered, hours worked (in case I'm doing a job for someone who pays me), status of game repairs (separated by if the game is mine or for someone else), and parts I have on-hand (mostly just cap values) and prior orders from Bob Roberts and Digikey get copied into this note as well.

It syncs via the Internet, I have the client on every device I own, and it is completely free.

I normally make a list of my games and what is needed for each game then I put it somewhere safe and basically (happened more then once) forget where i put the damn thing...So I make another list and so on and so on...LOL

I've had more than one project going at once and it was a mess. I think I'll stick to one at a time. With my Revenge from Mars I made a list of each part in the order I removed them and bagged them. After all the cleaning, polishing and waxing was done I just went in reverse order. I also took lots of pics.

I wish my parts ordering was better organized though. I tried to make a list of all the parts I needed so I could keep the number of places I ordered from to a minimum. I ended up ordering from 6 or 7 places and 1 or 2 of them more than once as I came across more parts I needed and ordered too much. - Barry

1. Never take on a second project until the first is done

2. Keep it simple...piece of paper or the inside cover of the manual. Make a list and keep to it.

I don't waste time typing things into a computer. That reminds me of my college room mate. He spent more time making lists and organizing than he did actually doing work. Just do it and don't let it drag out.

I'm on the computer all day, so typing it into the computer would give me something else to do at work ;)
