How do you guys keep track of high scores at your housecade?

attachment.php

it's just at Little Sweden. Maybe someone would have an easier time getting it out than the Sundance...

NO!!!!! IT'S COVERED IN METH RESIDUE! THEY WERE COOKING RIGHT NEXT TO IT. I WAS THERE...
hehehe, sorry, Karl...had to do it. :D

I was inspired by this thread to go get one of the menu boards. Unless there's a set of inserts that's numbers-only, expect to have to buy 3-4 additional sets of letters to have enough of some of the numbers, like "2". They're stingy with the "J"s too, only 3 per set.. Joust, Joust 2 and Joust pinball ran me out.

I only have 14-15 games in the Barcade so I have enough room to put initials/names as well as the date the score was achieved.

I'm "Madoc", "ACE" and "Brad" .. I should really just pick one :)

Where did you get that board? I have been looking for one but haven't seen any. I currently keep track of my high scores on a sheet of paper.

We usually just log them into a Word document and put the files on a flash drive. That way any of us can view the scores, or e-mail them at anytime really. Pretty boring, but it works.

LOL, just don't let me see your kids leaning on the meth-menu sign until it had at least been cleaned up! :)

Actually the menu sign was nowhere to be found! I looked all over the place, no letters even floating around that I noticed. I actually had the idea to move the letters around and take a few pictures of it with some funny sayings on it that would have really ignited the thread...

Thats an AWESOME sign Fonty, can't wait until I can see it in person! When I wasn't looking years back I used to see those signs constantly... now that I'm keeping my eyes peeled for reasonably priced ones I don't stumble on them anymore!

I too ran out of numbers, so switched to K, M, and B, like:

Home arcade high score board - message board example

I was going to post this as a new thread, but since there already are a few of them, I'll post it here.

This isn't the most colorful solution, but it works well for what I wanted to do.

A few months ago I purchased the Nu-Dell message board with letters, 24"x36", black from ReStockIt.com (https://www.restockit.com/Message-Board-WLetters-24x36-Black-(NUD52436).html?prd=1) for $72 (free shipping) (FYI, looks like the price just went up to $74). It came with 288 letters each in 1", 3/4" and 1/2" sizes. I used the 1" letters at the top and 3/4" letters & numbers for the rest of it. There is space for 35 game titles on this board using the 3/4" letters.

Obviously, what's included doesn't have nearly enough letters and numbers to populate the entire board (after Galaga, Dig Dug and Frogger, you are out of Gs!). I ran out about a quarter of the way through and ended up buying a 6-pack of the Nu-Dell White Letter & Number - 3/4" (http://www.instawares.com/white-letter-and-number-34.50150.0.7.htm) from Instawares.com for $55 (free shipping). Yeah, it's kind of ridiculous for little pieces of plastic. Anyway, each set has 144 letters and numbers (and it comes with 6 sets). You can use the letter O in place of zero since they give you more of the letters. UPDATE: I've since had to buy *another* package of just numbers because I ran out of several numbers after opening all 6 of the letter/number packages I bought before.

I bought the letter organizer container at Michael's craft store for about $8 (it's a craft/bead organizer with 32 bins). The photo shows multiple sets of 3/4" letters & numbers in there.

By the way, I don't own all of these dedicated games. Most are in multiple-game systems (Ultimate Arcade 2 and a 60-in-1 game).

I got mine from SchoolOutfitters.com .. the shipping is much faster than what they quote on the site, for these items anyway.

Thanks for the info and links. That's pretty much what I've been looking for. Looks great!

I've been looking to buy one in a store. I guess I'll have to break down and order one.

I have a 15 year old, a 12 year old, and a 9 year old. Those kids are like elephants, they never forget who has the high score and what it was!

Ok I picked up a felt letterboard on the cheap on eBay and need some help.

I've been searching around to find the thread but not having any luck - somewhere on KLOV there is a thread that shows scoreboards from Barcades/arcades out there and I'm trying to find the one that had wording at the bottom like "Beat a high score to get your name on the board" or something like that.

I want to duplicate it for my score board. Help anyone?

Richies arcade does this with there high score board.
I think the best/coolest way I've seen it done was that someone got matching marquees for all their cabinets, mounted them on a chalkboard, and then put the score next to the respective marquee. Pretty sure I saw it on ataricade.com but the link is down :(

I have to remember to program new high scores in when they are set, but its been solid, never lost a score.
