How do you guys feel about this?

Unless the buyer has already seen it in person and/or is paying in advance, make him get it. You'll be wasting gas & time when he decides there's something wrong with the game upon delivery.

"Uh. Its got X wrong with it. I am sorry you drove all the way down here."

No thanks.

I think one of three things is going to happen.

Not going to show up at all (his big slob of a wife said no)
Going to show up with less money than agreed upon price
Going to find something wrong with it to haggle the price further

With a hump like this guy, the bullshit never ends.

Ugh. I hadn't even thought about that. I'd be so pissed! Glad I ran this situation by you guys. Thanks for the heads up!

I don't post many topics but I'm curious on how you guys handle situations like this. On Craigslist, after the buyer negotiates you down to the point where you are basically giving the game away.....then says, "you're really far. (60 miles) Can you drive it down to me?"

Being a nice guy, I say I'll meet in the middle....and they reply, "Can you come down further?" WTF? LOL.

I've driven to Milwakuee from Denver for a game I wanted. Would you tell a person like this to get lost?

Why are you still wasting your time with this person, and why are you making me waste my time replying to you :)

Any time someone wants me to deliver, it is a non-refundable $150 delivery fee to PayPal and they pay my full asking price...

So just an update. We already established I'm Literally making nothing on this custom cab.

The buyer asks me today to cut some t molding grooves on the cab before I drive it down to meet him. I respond by telling the buyer I'm unable to deliver. He responds back, "I'll drive up and pick it up if I have to....if you are willing to go lower on the price."

I just deleted the message. What an insult. Ha

Thanks for the advice gentlemen of KLOV.

What ever happened to the good old, customers always right? Your generation makes me sick:)

Seriously, good for you. Did you ever consider that someone on KLOV is just pranking you?

Yeah, actually I had thought about it....but more so the local 60n1 makers.

I've already had my ad for my custom cabs flagged and removed.....so anything is possible.

Guess so. Ha

It gets better. LOL. Hes being persistent now. I told him I'm not interested in selling at his price and he'd better off building one himself. He explains he doesn't have the tools to build something like this and wants it. I'm done at this point and diplomatically decline. He tells me I wasted his time, and Im pussy and a punk. Ha! Good guy.

So moral of the story......negotiate the price down from $250 to $150, then ask for 60 mile delivery, if seller says no, ask for more money off to drive up and pick up, if seller says no, then call him names for wasting your time. Craigslist...what a nice place. Ha

Tell him only real pussies don't want to drive an hour for a game and beg someone to basically deliver it for free. I'm tempted to post my own for sale ad of it and when he calls about it say I bought it to flip it for double the price.

Haha, thanks dude. I was gonna respond to his last text to me but what's the point? Lecturing a weirdo won't make him less weird....better just to walk away. Just glad I didn't let a guy like that didn't get my work. When they keep wanting more and more...it just gets old quick.

Lesson learned.

Wow, this dude is psychotic. He's blowing up my phone right now thanking me again for wasting his time, I'm an asshole, and he's gonna tell his friends what a terrible person I am.

I probably shouldn't have responded but I told him I'm sorry he couldn't get my work for next to free and based on his abusive texts, I'm more than happy to not have my work in his home.

So yeah, this is fun.

Rule #1 of posting to Craigslist: use a Google Voice number tied to an account dedicated to doing stuff on Craigslist. People can still text, email, and / or call you, and the true weirdos have nothing to tie back to your personal email or phone number.

Getting back to the original question for a moment: there have been two occasions on which I have provided free delivery of a game. Both of them involved buyers who met my asking price (which was at the going rate for the games involved) with no haggling. In both cases their schedules meshed with mine and there were other things I wanted to do at the ends of town that they lived in. At no point did I volunteer delivery; they both politely asked if it was possible, and given how things had gone with them up to that point (as well as taking a look at the neighbourhoods they wanted me to deliver to), I was OK with this. Even though everything checked out up to that point, I really prefer to not let a total stranger into my home, so extended the courtesy.

And yep, I've also run into the people who want everything for free or better and want it brought to them. Unsurprisingly, I've had about the same reaction from them as you have from your guy. Frankly, I'd rather they leave angry texts and voicemails without having received anything from me because they're only going to be more of a problem after they've bought it. Learned that one the hard way.

He just sent me four text messages saying I'm not really making or designing these cabinets, I'm pulling images off line. And I'm a braggard and a fraud apparently.

I may be getting killed tonight guys. It was nice knowing you all. Lol.

Sounds like a peach of a guy. Wish I gave him the gas money. Haha
