I don't post many topics but I'm curious on how you guys handle situations like this. On Craigslist, after the buyer negotiates you down to the point where you are basically giving the game away.....then says, "you're really far. (60 miles) Can you drive it down to me?"

Being a nice guy, I say I'll meet in the middle....and they reply, "Can you come down further?" WTF? LOL.

I've driven to Milwakuee from Denver for a game I wanted. Would you tell a person like this to get lost?

Tell them for a $200 delivery cost you would consider it. They will probably bail or get off their butt and come get it

It's feels great to be nice and help others out, but never let it get out of hand where folks are just pushing you around. Hold the line.

Charge for shipping it to his home.

I guess it's the old cliche, "give an inch and they'll take a mile"....literally in this case. Haha

Glad to see my thinking is not skewed here, and you guys all think the same thing I'm thinking. Thanks!

Unless the buyer has already seen it in person and/or is paying in advance, make him get it. You'll be wasting gas & time when he decides there's something wrong with the game upon delivery.

I'm not sure why I forgot to say that. I usually prefer to do CL transactions that way.

What Keithsarcade said. He needs to come and pick up the game. He sounds sketchy, already. Just say you are unable to meet, now. If he's serious, he will come to you. What is the game, if you don't mind me asking?

It's just an empty custom mini Pacman cabinet I built. You've probably seen my annoying mini Pacman builds on Craigslist. Haha

But good to know for the future, I've dealt with this in the past. Like I said, if I reeeeeally wanted a game. I jump in the car and get it. You're right, I have no assurance he won't flake on me and waste my time and gas....it is, after all...CL.

Yep, this. If he doesn't want it bad enough to pay what you asked for it AND doesn't want it bad enough to hop in the car and come get it, he doesn't want it bad enough to not flake out on the sale after you take three hours out of your day to drive it down to him.

I don't think I'd ever deliver a game I sold through CL... I've had too much time wasted by CL buyers just waiting around my own home for them to show up when they said they would.

I'm not sure if I've seen your posts. I don't check Denver regularly, due to the fact that my vehicle doesn't like to drive there. Now that I know you'll meet me halfway, I will start to look for your posts. Is it cabaret size?

I've delivered, but only nearby, and usually for someone I know, or if I at least have a good feeling about it, and usually only if I haven't been haggled too far down. The potential buyer here is showing none of those traits from what Wyo is describing.

LOL! I'm trying not to get into that "nice guy" habit....although I did deliver I game I built down in Colorado Springs for a guy for free....so apparently it's on my route. Haha

They are four feet tall, Here's a pic.

How about I just deliver it out of state? Say like for a gift of family member you have in mind? I can only go as far as New Jersey tho. Don't push it! :)

Don't give your work away for free! I'd help delivering a game for someone, but they'd be paying an additional delivery fee and only after they saw the game in person and I had cash in hand.

Hi 34K!!!

Cool. I'm gonna tell the guy to come get it...if he's not on KLOV and hasn't seen this thread already. Haha. Already had to many others wasting my time.

Yesterday I had a guy asking me to build him a Pacman with multiple levels where you can beat all the bosses. I was like, "I don't know what that means"

Craigslist.

60 miles is not far, esp in that area, when I lived in Denver I was always driving the hour to Ft Collins or Colorado Springs for Car shows, concerts, shopping or what ever and my morning work commute was 24 miles. Don't bend, they want it bad enough, they should come and get it, simple as that. To many lazy f's in this world, I work for Ace Hardware "the Helpful Place" but as time progress, it is turning into the "Do it for you place". End of I" don't like people like that" rant. :)
