I have a gauntlet original cab the gauntlet 2 cpo was over the top of the original and was beat to hell. "We'll I removed it to find the orginal gauntlet cpo in awesome shape" but the gauntlet 2 cpo glue remains. I did realize dont use goo off cause I seen a whiting of some of color in a small spot I tried. Then I tried a warm soapy water solution to no avail! I found rubbing it with my fingers works but seems like it would take forever! I did rub the glue of the thor part of the cpo While watching tv and felt like rugburn on my finger lol!

GOOBE GONE. not sure if it's one word. you can find it at supermarkets or Home Depot.

first off don't expect this to be a quick process. It could work out that way but if you don't have patience you will likely damage the cpo you are trying to save, which will defeat the whole purpose. I would use goo gone as suggested. It will not harm the other cpo but should remove the residue. Basically you spray it on and let it sit a few minutes. On metal I use a scraper as it's easier to scrape the residue off than rub it off but in your scenario that may not be an option. Maybe a plastic squeegee might work without damaging the cpo. Basically scraping will remove the majority of the residue and when most of that is gone a rag will finish it off. You will have to apply the goo gone a few times to get all the residue. If you can find it I've seen a goo gone in gel form. I find it better than the liquid as it stays in the area sprayed better than liquid which tends to run off.

Good suggestion on the Goo Gone, I've also had good results with Naptha.

I use it on pinball playfields after taking the mylar off and it is safe for the painted artwork underneath, but test it to be sure!

Sometimes depending on the area to work on, I'll take a dry paper towel and stick it down on the adhesive, then saturate that with Naptha allowing it to soak for a few minutes. Then I use an old credit card as a scraper to gently work at the adhesive.

Usually a follow up wipe with more Naptha will take care of any remaining residue. You can buy Naptha in the paint section of stores like Home Depot and it's cheaper by the gallon than most other plastic safe removers.

Another chemical suggestion is "PB Blaster - Decal and Sticker Remover" it is a spray can and smells pretty foul, but loosens up adhesive into the booger consistency much faster than goo gone. Not sure if it will destroy the other cpo underneath though, so it should be tested if used.

I used this on my asteroids deluxe cpo and that glue was hell to get off without chemicals (seems like all atari cpo's are hard to remove)
