Mine is all jammed up and I can't find nothing to use as a poker. What do you guys use to clean the wands?

I have a Pace SX80 wand connected to a ST 115 base. I cannot remember the nozzle size and it is the only nozzle I own.

I know I can buy this Sodr-X-Tractor Tip Cleaning Kit http://www.pacedirect.com/product.php?id=879# but that wont solve my issue tonight.

Did it come with a cleaning tool?

If it gets really plugged up, you can remove the nozzle and get some real small drill bits to clean the end. I would not put the drill bit in a dril because it can be too agressive and cause more trouble than you already have. You have to be careful that you drill in the center and parallel so that you do not damage the barrel.

My station has steel wool and a pad that has to be replaced frequently so that I do not lose suction. This will cause the gun to plug up more often.

Back in biz... A metal paper clip ended up solving my issue. I slapped a new cardboard tube in there and it's working like new.

Pace (and others) have a pack of twisted metal wires that you use to clean the different size tips with. The one I have is in a nice small folding metal holder.

Also, they have different size brushes: 2 steel brushes used to clean out the different size irons for soldering and desoldering (removes oxidation and solder that leached through) and a nylon brush used to clean out the glass tubes in the older desoldering irons.

I may have some extras of the steel brushes. Won't know until I get all these stations I bought figured out. I might have to use some spare parts if they aren't all there.

You can get the tip cleaners at any welding shop. The pace ones are the same damn thing at inflated price. There are two lengths, you need the longer ones. These are used for cleaning oxy/acetylene torch tips.
