Hello All!

I was wondering if it is possible to "buy back in" while a pinball machine is set to Free Play like if the machine were set up to quarter play and at the end of the game you could add another quarter. Or am I just totally off and even if the game is set to quarter play there is no such thing as a continue or buy-back-in?

I have a Dirty Harry pinball machine and when I bought it the machine was set to Free Play. At the end of the game I have tried everything to be able to continue my game without starting over. If I press the side flippers, the start button or the ball launching trigger it says "buy-in cancelled by pressing flippers" or gun or start button or whatever else I push.

Is there a "buy-in" when the machine is set on Free Play or is that just one of the pitfalls of having the game set to free play?

Have you tried the button below the gun and just to the right of the coin door? Should be a green button and say extra ball(unless it was changed at some point)?

However perhaps continues are not allowed on free play. not sure.

it should work. Have you checked the menu to see if 'buy in' is disabled?

STTNG allows buy-ins on freeplay. Check your settings. Buy-in may have gotten disabled somehow in the menu.

If I hit that at the end of the game it gives you one more ball and after that ball it goes to the game over screen.

Gamey and Frax:

I have not messed much with the menu. I will have to either look up in the manual how to do buy-ins on Free Play or play around with the menu until I figure it out.

Do either one of you know if I just press start at the end of the game to buy-in or what button do I push?

Thanks for the help!

honestly, I'd look at the manual. Do you have one?

There are only a couple of buttons to press so try them all. My guess is that its disabled in the menu.

The 2nd option under Factory adjustments lets you choose how many times you can "buy" an extra ball - from 1 to 6. This works on Free Play, too....

Those of you that said to look into the options were right. The buy-in was set to 1 buy-in. You have the option of 1-6, then unlimited.

Thanks for your help guys!
