how do people on CL figure there prices?

I have a buddy who does random prices like this in his ads (minus the cents). If he wants $300, he'll list it at $317 or something like that. The funny thing is that most people tend to pay what he's asking without bartering him down. Perhaps they figure that if he's asking a price like that, then he's got exactly that much into it...

Hmm!! I may have to try that on my CL postings. I always leave myself barter room in my pricing, but lately I've had most folks paying my asking price without haggle.

Considering most, if not all of those, come with the A and B board thats not to out of line as a starting price. Im sure he knows he will have to come down a bit on those.

Since it was mentioned on my other thread...

I emailed this guy and picked up X-Men vs. Street Fighter and X-Men COTA for 50$ each. With the A and B boards for both, lol. =)
