How do I...

I am also having difficulty with the highlighting text in the textbox/reply-window when typing a post. The low contrast color (white highlight on offwhite background) make it a challenge to tell what text is highlighted.

Let me know where you are seeing this...what page/function. These problems are most likely to appear on vBulletin Transition Style A due to how it was set up. If you move to one of the other themes, you will likely (hopefully) avoid most of these issues.

I know of a few of them already.. but not white on white, more dark on dark issues. It's very difficult and time consuming to address through the forum system directly, which is why Transition Style is still imperfect.

Agree with Ghostlyguy on this one. I'm using the vB Transition A theme, and the difference between quoted and non-quoted text (in any post) is to small to be noticeable on my screen. Would work better if we could just darken up the quoted text background color.

Also, something is up with the avatars. Mine (and others) don't appear to be centered. I can't tell if it's rotating the image or asymmetrically cropping them.

I can try and look at the theme again, but not until much later this week.

As far as avatars... on the old system the avatars were slightly rectangular if I remember correctly. On the new system they are square (view as round in some styles). The importing system looks like it just cropped off the right edge. The easiest thing to do is re-upload.

Speaking of avatars... uploading new ones was spinning off errors. For tech and policy concerns, uploading of gif avatars has been turned off for now.

Also... Maybe it's a work-in-progress, but there are missing forums:

The 'Original Style (Sq Avatars)' & 'vBulletin Transition B (Sq Avatars)' seems to work fine with the highlight text thing. It is passable, (light blue highlight) but it could be a little bit darker. 🤷

My avatar is not offset like others are mentioning. I think it might have something to do with pixel width. My avatar is not very wide.

granted access to only to see your threads/posts.... I'm thinking this is another work-in-progress based on the new forum settings...?

We've only been talking about its demise repeatedly for years now. If you search for posts made by me mentioning Tapatalk, you're find a regular stream of them.

Getting rid of it was one of the main reasons we upgraded. We needed the upgrade to make the site mobile friendly without Tapatalk's help.

Xenforo is working on a quasi-app... it may get you closer to where you want to be once it comes out.

...and never will be again.

...Tapatalk was the closest thing to serious malware I've ever allowed running on one of my computers.

* Their general business policies don't align with the needs and concerns of this site, and they regularly took new actions that weren't made to serve the interests of a site it was 'helping'.

* Originally touted as something useful and innocent (it was originally), over time it became clear they were just charging us monthly for their server plugin for the right to build their business. Their desire to become a destination themselves led them to in essence compete with the sites they were supposedly helping.

* -Several Times- they changed account preferences (our account) to allow marketing back on to our members when I had it internationally turned it off. On the server side it moved from free to $5/month in order to prevent the advertising, if I recall correctly, but later that didn't make a difference anyway. [I would have been happy to pay them measurably more every month if their business model wasn't so evil, IMO.]

* They advertised directly competing sites (and god knows what else) to our members (and again charged us the monthly server fee for this privilege).

* A lack of software accountability and things we observed once gave me security concerns that kept me up at night

* They tried to allow their software to register users directly on our forums years ago, bypassing our security and processes.

* They deflected image uploads to their own servers without asking us. I didn't ask them to sell our users on using them for third party image hosting, and then to watermark the images so they would further advertise themselves on this site. Every single time they added a new 'feature', if I had the ability to turn it off it was added in a way for which its default setting hurt the board and its users. It was always about them.

* Of course, site metrics like Google Analytics were skewed because of this thing.

* It was one more thing to upgrade and maintain.

* more..
I cannot agree more! From the user's perspective, it went from a friendly, helpful app to a difficult to use, limited functionality, and advertising machine. Just looking at the number of GBs it chewed-up every month was insane!

Good riddance!

switch to the B theme. I'm a little partial of it.

the transitional themes were meant to be just that, transitional. i did go a little further with the B theme and wrote a little more CSS to add things like the content container just like both vbulletin 3 and 4 had. I did that so that people could acclimate themselves to features and workings of Xenforo while still having a bit more of a familiar feel before moving on to a true Xenforo theme

Slow boil the frog. :-/

Does that mean you have plans to remove specific themes in the future?

Mclemore alluded publicly to a more unified theme for both KLOV and VAPS eventually .

I just wrote a few lines of CSS so that KLOVers could feel ever so slightly more at home during the transition. I'm not a staffer here.

I see, well hopefully there will eventually be a selection of themes everyone likes/agrees on. Which probably will be a difficult thing. 🤷

I've moderated forums since the 90s. I've owned forums with triple the amount of members KLOV has now. Be it 100 or 100,000+ members can never please everyone.

Access has been fixed. You actually had viewing access, not posting access.
And there isn't any donor section about donor 50 (at least not yet :) )

I don't think you had any threads in the section, so that is why it looked empty to you. And I just fixed posting access to this section too.

Do you have to manually fix everyone? I don't see the Donor 20 section either, unless it moved?

Made a thread to help people learn how to use the new forum software.

Please LMK as soon as we can upload animated GIFs. I got my 3 donation fruits for that very reason.

How do I delete my avitar? Never had one before and I don't want one now.

I don't know if that's possible. You get your letter/initial in a box as a default when you don't have one uploaded (which seems to be a convention for most online forums these days).

You could create a blank one and upload that. Might be the best you can do. (But even then it won't match the background, depending on the style that viewers have chosen. Unless maybe if you make it a transparent JPG. You'd have to try it.)

That is strange. I thought yours worked.

I guess you could upload a blank image as your avatar

Edit: Transparency works fine for me on different colour forum formats.
