Need help testing this power supply, not sure where to put the probes from the muli meter. The red wire is suppose to be 15v unregulated, there are 2 red and white wires which show 12v com on the schematics, 3 black and white that show 8v com and 2 black that show 5v unregulated. It's from a spyhunter game.

The three pin connector (with two wires) is approximately 12 volts AC. Set your meter to AC volts, one probe to one wire, the other probe to the other wire. It doesn't matter which probe (red or black) you use for either wire. This is AC. AC doesn't care about ground and positive (in this application).

According to my schematics....all black/white wires and red/white wires are grounds. Electronically speaking, they are all the same point....and are all connected under the assembly. So....set meter to DC volts, black probe goes to any of the above mentioned wires, red probe goes to red wire...you should have 18VDC (give or take). Keep black probe where it's at, put red probe on one of the black wires (the schematics show two, they are both the same).....you should be 10VDC (give or take). Done.

Thanks Edward for that info, I tested the transformer power supply and all the voltages are good, so now I know that whatever is causing the fuse to blow on the mcr power supply board is on that board itself.

I checked out his kit and am thinking of buying it, I have tested some of items on the board that are included in his kit and they are working fine so I am hesistant to spend the money to buy the whole kit when I know some of the items in the kit I don't need.
