How do I remove this pin? It's from a pinball diverter and I need to save the
pin and reuse it.

I've tried a hole punch and hammer and it hasn't even moved.

Any suggestions?

Drill it out.
Put it in a vice, and drill the hole with a bit just under the size of the hole.

You could also try heating the outer portion or spraying compressed co2 on the pin (expand the outside, or contract the pin). If you heat just right, the metals will expand at different rates, and the pin should come out easier.

Drilling it and being able to save the pin will be very tough. I'd continue with your hole-punch and hammer attempts; maybe squirt some liquid wrench or WD-40 in the hole.

Why save the pin? Get a new one. They're not expensive.

dont use a centre punch as they are conincal/tapered and wil spread the pin even further.

use a pin punch the same size as the hole as pin punches are straight not tapered and will drive out the pin without distorting it.if you dont have a pin punch you could cut off a long unbrako bolt shank (they're hardened) thats the right size, file it square and away you go. pin punches are cheap and easier to handle.

a bit of heat or co2 may help, but you dont want to change the temper of the shaft with too much heat.

otherwise let it sit for a week or so in some penetrene then try the pin punch again

Roll Pin Punch Set?

You'll half to shock that roll pin with a big arse hammer once you clamp down the pinball diverter in a good heavy duty vise. Just use a pair of vise grips to hold the roll pin punch and smack the heck out of it & it should pop right out...

put it in a vice and hit it with a hammer and a brass punch if you have one just make sure its hitting the pin and not swelling it out,

theres no need to heat such a small item you should be able to get it out fairly easy with the right tools

dontr stick in the vise as the jaws will damage the shaft. sit it on an anvil that has a hole in it deep enough for the pin, then drive the pin thru.

seriously now, couple more suggestions:

if it doesnt want to budge, use a very small v file or a square file and file a slit (or open up the existing slit) in the roll pin which will help give it more room to move.

brief bursts of high heat in the hole with a blow torch with fine flame and dip in water will help to expand/contract the pin and help to loosen the bond with the hole in the shaft

and what mrsalvage said...
