How do i remove factory installed chip sockects on a pcb

I'm NO expert I've had my Hakko FR300 a week now since Christmas and haven't had any issues. I've had a few stubborn pins on some eprom sockets but mine came apart like other stated and once I pulled the socket and the few pins stayed on the board I just heated them and pulled them out from the component side then used the solder sucker to clear the holes.
I did some smaller .3's off a chassis and had a couple pins not come clean with just the solder sucker, what I ended up doing again after adding new solder like others stated I used my iron to heat the pad making sure i got the new solder completely around the pin and heated the old solder real well then used both the iron on the pad then used the fr300 on top at the same time and that worked perfectly. That's a lot of heat so I made sure it was quick.

This is what my sockets looked like when the pins didn't come out the whole socket just pulled up leaving the pins.

So what can I expect from the quality of that $110 hakko-knockoff?

They sell hakko 850's on ebay for $200-400 used, since it's discontinued...

The new hakko rework station (FR-810B) runs $850 - https://www.hakkousa.com/products/rework/fr-810b-smd-hot-air-rework-station.html

Not sure, didn't even know it was a knock-off...or that the REAL deal was discountinued. In the vid, the handle he is using on the heater is black, the one you linked to is blue. I wonder if he used the knock-off in the vid.?.
