How do I hook up this MKII PCB?

I have a MK4 cab that I use to swap between UMK3 and a few other fighting games.

I just bought an MKII board, without thinking the sound board needs it's own power cord.
Does anyone know how I could power the MK2 sound board in a dedicated MK4 cab?

Since MK3 and MK4 don't have the separate sound board, I'm guessing that the power cords not in there.

If they don't respond, try to pm zenomorph or ctozzi. Both of these guys have 10 different MK style games.
they know everything.

Are you missing the cord? The board doesn't need a seperate cord to go to the cabinet, the sound goes out through the jamma connector. The power cord goes to the 8 pin J3 connector on the main pcb, and there is also a ribbon cable that goes between the 2 boards.

you should have 2 sets of cables to hook the sound board up to the main board.

a ribbon cable (if yours didn't come with one you can rig up a computer IDE cable, just make sure you note the orientation of the red stripe on the cable for "pin 1" on both the main and sound board connectors). this is what routes the sound effects to (eventually) the JAMMA edge, which then outputs to your speakers.

and then a 6 wire power connector (I think it's 6 wires). these wires are just for power.

if that's the one you're lacking, I guess worse comes to worse you solder jumper wires, just making note of the first pins and then going in that sequence. :)

if you have those, then you're good to go. MK1 was the only game that required a 50k ohm volume pot, MK2-4 you adjust volume in the test menu.

It did come with the Ribbon cable, but not the 6 pin cable.
I don't really want to start hacking wires, because I switch boards frequently in this cab.

So, if I just got that 6 pin to go to the main PCB, I would be in business?

yes sir. I'm sure you got some ends or something laying around to wire it up.

not like it really matters if you hardwire it, that sound board's only going to be with that game anyway. my MK1 board is hardwired cause the header pins were broken off.

I think it uses 18 gauge wire.

I thought there would be more to it than that.
Thanks for the help guys!
