How do I go about reproducing my primal rage side art?

Alright here's the deal i have a primal rage machine with probably the nicest side art ive ever seen on one. its all there and any imperfections could be just touched up in photoshop. I know that there isnt any website reproducing this side art yet and i know theres alot of people wanting it to be reproduced.

my question is how do i go about getting the side art image to somebody that can properly reproduce it and how do i go about scanning it?

I was thinking about just holding a scanner up to the cabinet and just scanning it in sections.

any ideas will be much appreciated im just doing this because i love primal rage and i hate seeing so many machines without side art.

Im attaching a picture of one side ill get a higher quality camera to show the rest of it but both sides are for the most part same condition.

If you were closer I'd scan it.
You are on the right track though, need to lay it on its side and use a portable flat bed see through scanner. They have them on EBay and Amazon.

So are we to understand that you have to scan chunks at a time and then paste them all together with image editing software, such as Photoshop? I'm pretty handy with that stuff, so I could probably do it. But if there's a professional out there who deals in these things, could we just send the images to him/her?

I would also assume that he has to include the cabinet dimensions and send those off as well, so the artist has something to go by, and the art itself doesn't end up warped.

I stop doing side art. Way too much time. I just focus on control panels, bezel, small labels & Marquee's.
For something that big you need to get a hold of Mikonos. (That's his specialty.)
you gotta scan it at 600dpi as a tiff file, he'll stitch it up.
Here is some example of his work. He's dead on Detail:

You never know, He may have one already done. The guy has a Large collection of art.
He's trying to restore all that is arcade and pinball.
Here is most of his completed Collection. The guy is from Madrid Spain so the Forum is all in spanish.
you wont need a translator to see the art. It speaks for itself.
He runs / is the Admin for Zona arcade.

Hope this helps.

That guy mikonos has alot of good stuff.. Does he print and sell, or does he provide the file? His NBA Jam TE CPO is wrong though..

That's awesome. More of this stuff is documented than I thought.

It's also pretty cool that mikonos just made that post around the same time XScArY1X decided he wanted to have his side art scanned. Guess now we know who to bug about it.

He Prints. He did have an issue with the CPO's. In Europe they didn't have the 3M 2mil or 5mil protective Lexan laminate,
but he finally found a shop that does. He's not a Store or a Shop. Does not make a profit.

He does not share his file, but he will print them, and ship them for you.
He also buys Scans if you got what he needs.

That NBA cpo may be a European edition. I know there CPO's are different over there.

you should really send that to a big reproduction website... i know so many people who are looking for stuff like that

Some Print shop won't touch these. Copyrights I believe, but one time custom order you may pull off.
Its all different from shop to shop.

i have that instruction card, i've been meaning to scan it, it was creased so it's sitting under 80lbs of books along with some other instruction cards. (i've never seen that complete bezel tho i don't think)

He'll pay you for the scans. He'll put in the HOURS to restore the art and set it to size.

I know what your thinking, but you give it a shot... try with a CPO something smaller.
its a lot of time and effort. a lot.

Well now that I know who to go to. I can scan my NBA Jam TE stuff and send it to him. The CPO he has is an original NBA Jam, not TE. My cpo and side art is all there, it just needs to be fixed up and printed.. Now I cant wait to get my TMNT done so I can start on my NBA Jam.... :D

Here's the tutorials on scanning side art. Very Helpful.:

If you see carefully, you will see arcade artwork pieces than anyone have. I´m buying or getting original artwork pieces and scans constantly.

I´m a arcade collector and this is my philanthropy work consistent in preserve arcade artwork for future.

I have a very, very large collection hidden or for restoring. ;)

So... if we scan it for him, we won't get the file back out of it? That's lame :/

Well, I pass many people used my work for to sell. I don´t want it. If you want to pay my work, you can too. I will send the files in this case. My work is very, very detailed.

Yo have this post to see it: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=241354

I will show many exclusive artwork, not documented, in next moth.

Send me it, I will restore for you for free. I´m, in first time, an arcade fan who want help other fans.

Thanks Mikonos i dont wanna make any money off this i just wanna do something for all the primal rage fans out there missing their epic side art.

Consider it a gift from the rage champion himself :)

plus i like the idea of knowing all the reproductions of primal rage side art started from my machine.

i got a flat scanner im gonna hook it up to my laptop and see if i can get some good scans for you.

ill let you know when i get all the scans done so i can find what way is best to get them to you.

This is one of those games that I thought no one cared enough about to actually make art for. I love it though!!
I had never seen the bezel scan before this thread. I have two NOS cpo's for the dedicated unit I can probably scan in the future if no one has gotten around to it.
