Buddy of mine bought a Tekken 4 machine recently, machine is in great shape but was in the home of a smoker and the cab smells like an ash tray.

We were almost thinking some febreeze and re-painting the exterior.

Anyone dealt with removing the ash tray smell from a cab?

put a dead rat in the cab i will gaurantee that you will not notice the cig smell anymore. :)

but i heard some ppl like the baking soda in the cab

Give the cab a full cleanup and then stick some baking soda in there(The little box of arm n hammer for your fridge should suffice)

Don't forget to hang a couple of these inside:

You might want to try lighter fluid and a match.

But, if you want to keep it, I'll had good luck with tons of Lysol, baking soda and fabric softener sheets.

Put a very hot pan of water mixed equally with pure ammonia and close up the cab...leave it there for a few days, maybe more and the smell will be gone. You may have to try it twice, but it will work. The same can be done with a smoker's car. I've done it & it works better than any spray which really only covers it up for a while. Good luck!

Yeah, but then how do you get that horrible fabric softener sheet smell out of there???

carpet sprinkles sprinkled in mass, inside the cabinet (on something open like a piece of cardboard).

They have a nice smell, and really penetrate the cabinet. Just not sure if it will get rid of the smoke smell though, but at this point it will be absorbed as other smells and cover it up.

Nicotine is some rough stuff. If not cleaned properly it will bleed through the fresh paint. Magic Eraser does miracles for getting the yellow-ness out. Nature's Miracle works great to get the smell out and Zinnser (sic?) Bullseye or Kilz is a great primer to use if you are going to paint over

Good luck!

wash it down with orange clean, thatll take the nicoteen off. Febreeze the interior then sit some baking soda in the bottom to finish it off, smell clean in no time

I have used lemon juice and water. On the inside of the cab. I have used a bleach and water solution. 10% chlorox. I wouldn't recommend this for the outside of a cabinet. Spot test first.

2 I would also replace the light bulb... for some reason they seem to be the stinkiest part

3. Elbow grease and orange cleaner will help quite a bit. Wipe off every surface in and out.

leave the back door off the game for a while, set up a fan and blow fresh air through the

cabinet with the coin door open and control panel opened/removed.

Patience, just accept it for now and over time the smell will go away.
But seriously can a Cab smell that bad of cigarettes??
A car I can understand cause it's a small closed space and people smoke inside.
What did they do with your Cab?? Smoke inside the cab :D
Curtains and living room couch or chairs with pillows and textile, those can smell for a while but that dissapears over time too when no one smokes anymore.

I wouldn't care, i don't smoke but the smell does noet bother me cause it's harmless.
