How do I determine if a game is medium or high resolution?

Ok monitor gurus...HELP!

I posted a question about 2 or 3 months ago about Namco Classic Collection Vol. 1 not showing colors properly. The colors that didn't look correct showed up as chrome when I run the game in MAME but show up as a green blue with my PCB to two different cabs -- Dynamo cab with a 25 inch and another machine that has a new CGA 19 inch Kortek that I got from arcadeshop a few months ago.

In the games database listing for the game, it shows a pics with chrome game logos for galaga and mappy. On two of my machines, they are green blue. Primary colors all look correct, its just the colors needing a larger pallete like chrome (at least on a PC you needed an EGA card or better in the old days).

So, I bought another board, and got the exact same results. So, I figured I had two bad boards. Then, came across yet another board. The owner then sent me pics and his machine had the green blue where chrome should be.

So, can someone point me to specs for this game, or do I just need a newer monitor.

Thanks!

As far as I know, the Namco collection is simple CGA. I just pulled it up in Mame and got the chrome/gray-scale...

Right. My same experience in MAME. But in regard to CGA, I don't remember ever seeing a good chrome color represented. You needed EGA or VGA to get an expanded pallete.

I have one more board on the way, and if that has the same green blue vs. chrome, I must need a better monitor.
