How do I adjust the vertical raster on a B/W Motorola xm702 monitor?

The manual says to turn up the brightness, and adjust the height of the vertical raster.

I turned up the brightness, to show the screens painted area (raster area?), and it is only about 60% of the screen size, the rest is black on top and bottom. I assume I need to adjust the vert. hold to get the whole picture? I messed with just about every vert. pot on the chassis, vert sync, ect. It made it a little larger vertically, but the image is far from filling the whole screen.

With the brightness turned back to normal, you cannot see this problem.

In attract mode, the game title appears about 3 inches lower than the burn in on the screen. That leads me to believe the display is shrunk in the vertical axis.

Any ideas?

thanks,
Rick

Is the 702 laid out the same way as the 701? Here is a pic of the 701 layout, showing where to adjust the vertical size:

thanks for the pic

Very close to 702. I adjusted the very size pot and it make a inch or so difference. With the brightness turned up all the way is the screen all lit up? I only have 60% of the screen lit up in the middle. Game plays ok but I think a little low on the screen. The burn in is higher on the screen and does not match the current display. With the brightness up, should the entire screen be illuminated to each edge of the monitor?

Thanks
