I forgot to look at the serial number of the cab, but the guy rebuilding the pcb said
that those cabinets are hard to come by.
I noticed in todd tuckey's caberet video he had one, but his upper cab was missing.
the part that covers the back of the monitor. Mine does not have a full door
it goes up to the bottom of the monitor and the rest is the part of the cab.
Are there any other members here with an asteroids deluxe caberet?

I had one, liked it. Advantages are its a killer looking cab. and its good to sit down and play at, the monitor sits right in front of your face. I'll guess there were about 1000 made, something like that I think. It was a hard decision to let it go. I bet it is still floating around somewhere in southern California. It would be interesting to have tracked the movement of that machine.

Edit: I was wrong about the production numbers, how humiliating :-0

according to productions numbers, Atari made 3252. I would say pretty high. they made 2000 battlezone 1500 missile command.

I have an asteroids cabaret. I assume your talking the rear access door. asteroids is smaller like MC. deluxe is taller like BZ.

I would guess if yours is different than the one pictured above then it was an asteroids conversion or maybe Atari used up some asteroid cabaret cabs.

I just moved a dedicated one that feel apart in a barn find into a new CNC cabinet. Plus I have another one next to it. Great game. Keeping the wood grain. The new one is for a collector friend.

I've got one as well. I was surprised to find the cabinet in such good shape!

I like how that looks. I've been debating on painting mine white or black and adding side art.

I also own one, in pretty rough condition. Who made your CNC cab and how much did it set you back?

I'd really like to track one down, and an Asteroids and Battlezone. I love the cabaret styles, but they just don't seem to come up around my area all that often.

I have an Asteroids Deluxe cabaret as well. I think they're more common then an Asteroids cabaret because I always see them for sale more often.

Here's my Asteroids DX cabaret......added a custom bezel like the upright.

And I also have a full sized upright with alternate CPO.

I see your in Fl. which one's for sale? no need for both, pretty much the same game. I know someone who might be interested if so.

Sorry, not for sale at this time...
my Asteroids was my very first machine. I rescued it from a vendor in Vegas
about 20 years ago who was about to dump it...It came not working, parts missing and generally rough as hell.
I got the Deluxe (#407) a few years later and they look great side by side :)

There is a list out there of Atari production numbers that says 1005 deluxe cabarets were made.

I agree that there may be less Asteroids out there, you do tend to see the deluxe cab more often.

I have a nice import Asteroids.. a deluxe would be cool to have also.
